Review: The legacy of Forrest Gump - This film is definitely one of my favourites ever. Forrest Gump, portrayed spectaculaly by Tom Hanks, is a simpleton from america who wonders into the world. He has some extraordinary gifts of which you will find out about in the film. Approaching this however, you may expect to find Forrest Gump as a character who you cannot relate with. This is not the case. He may be a idiot, but he has character and values which no man nore woman can spurn. With some commical moments, sad moments, and moments of sudden realisation- eg when he interacts with the environment around him and becomes a character who experiences monumental historical moments (ie the watergate scandal and the vietnam war)- the film is suprisingly entertaining and fast paced. It reminds me of me in a way. I found it funny and sad at times. A nice all round film without a nasty surprise. Good family DVD.
