The ThunderCats are back! A generation after becoming beloved animation icons, the mighty survivors of Thundera returned for a bold, new re-imagining that mixed the best of the past with the boldness of the new. As the threats of Mumm-Ra ring in their ears, these determined cats know what they must do: find the Book of Omens. Using his powerful Sword of Omens, Lion-O guides his friends, facing vicious foes and making fantastic new allies while racing towards a showdown with Mumm-Ra. Now all 26 episodes are available in “sight beyond sight” 1080p HD on Blu-ray Disc as they were meant to be seen. So get ready to rip into the action with Lion-O, Tygra, Panthro, Snarf, Cheetara, Wily Kit, Wily Kat and hear the battle cry of “ThunderCats Ho!” once again, for the very first time! Review: Modern nostalgia - I loved the original 80's show and loved this wished it got another season this box set works great on uk Dvd player you need to play episodes individually but I was ok with this 👌 👍 😀 Review: Why is this not available in the UK? - If you liked the original (rose tinted glasses), and you like anime style drawing you'll love this. It's just a shame I had to get it from USA, so a not cheap blue ray becomes even more expensive due to additional taxes. But if you want it and you're in the UK ..... Ps if that minor rant is not clear, it's great! 😁

A classic that beats a childhood classic!
Fantastic series, rememberable score and great story telling. Beats the original classic show hands down! Shame it was cancelled at the start of Season 2! Apparently it was because the toys were not selling, despite strong show ratings! Picture quality is fine with its original DD 2.0 mix. The case is a bit flimsy, but I’ve noticed it’s a common problem with the cheaper produced U.S Blu-ray cases!

Amazing series, shame about the cancellation
Amazing series, shame about the cancellation. Would have loved to have seen how the story was going to continue but alas, will never happen. Great Region Free Blu-Ray, definitely worth your money.

Even went and bought a copy for my brother! ...
Even went and bought a copy for my brother! Yes it works on UK region 2 players... disc 2 was a bit temperamental to 'play all' episodes so had to play a couple individually... then it was ok! Just need the remainder of the series to become available.. you can't leave us all hanging with Mum-Ra getting the edge over the cats!

Another great series that I watched online and fell in love with and had to buy. I'm currently watching the original series so I cannot say for sure how closely the 2011 version resembles the original (or would have if the 2011 version had been allowed to continue), but so far I have had a blast with both. The one thing I really love about this series is how you could see Lion-O grow as a character and his altering perspectives that shape him into the wonderful leader he's meant to be (as well as the changes in the lives of his friends and family) with some "spiritual" guidance from a old friend/mentor. [Small SPOILERS AHEAD regarding the introduction to the story] The 2011 series is different from the original where Lion-O was just a 12 yr old (son of the previous lord of the Thundercats) who, travelling to a new home (Third Earth) after their old home planet Thundera was destroyed. Their ship was attacked and their warp/hyper-drive was damaged where travel to their new home would have them perish from old age. So, the team had to stay in stasis pods that greatly slow aging but not stop it (hence why Lion-O then became a "young man" (24 I think)) where he and the current members of the Thundercats try to establish a new home. In the 2011 series Lion-O was a prince (what I presume to be a young adult) to a great/powerful then fallen kingdom named Thundera on a planet called Third Earth. After the fall of Thundera, they set out on a quest to locate a relic to help them in their struggle. Either iteration you watch, you'll not be disappointed as you'll get a different taste with each one. But personally, I like the universe of the 2011 series currently because how they differentiate between the species and creatures and bind them to one planet [Third Earth] in a way that makes a lot more sense to me. It's a shame that the series didn't go as far as it could have, but it kept me entertained the whole time. My advice, watch the 1985 version and then this if you can. The great thing about reboot series is that they sometimes love to make references and pay homage to the original series. So when you watch the 2011 series, you'll be like "Oh. Omg I remember that! Ha ha ha". I would recommend.
