For example the radiator or the workbench. **Q: Is this suitable for resting a PC mother board on while working on it?** A: Yes, that is exactly what I used it for while installing CPU, cooler and memory. It is a flexible plastic mat so you need some suitable surface underneath that is firm and not too spongy. **Q: Does this come with a plug to fit into the wall socket?** A: I'm guessing "Jason" doesn't have a qualification in electronics, or he'd know a lot of these type mats are connected to a special plug that uses the mains earth connection... This is what the original question was about. **Q: My armchair gives horrendous shocks after getting out of it this time of year, would this help if laid on the floor and stepped on after getting up?ty** A: This could work, but you have to make sure that the mat is connected grounded, e.g. a socket. However, you could also briefly touch the pipes of a heater to send the electrical charge into the ground as well. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Goooooood *by H***D on 28 August 2026* It’s great product for people to use for repairing ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Anti Static Kit *by G***M on 10 January 2022* It does the job well! I had no issues with it when building my pc. I would definitely recommend getting this kit instead of an individual anti static wrist band. This product is great for the value and gives you extra peace of mind and protection. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality but design flaw. *by 2***S on 15 January 2021* This is a good quality product, albeit expensive. The one design flaw in my opinion is the connection between the wrist band and the mat. The wrist band connector is a crocodile clip, the mat has a raised stud (?) type connection. The two are not a good match in that the wrist band disconnects very easily from the mat, which sort of defeats the object of the product. It would have been perfect if the product was supplied with a compatible connector. ## Frequently Bought Together - iFixit Portable Anti-Static Mat - ESD Pad, Wrist Strap, Grounding Cord for Electronics Repair - STREBITO Electronics Precision Screwdriver Sets 142-Piece with 120 Bits Magnetic Repair Tool Kit for iPhone, MacBook, Computer, Laptop, PC, Tablet, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo, Game Console - ARCTIC MX-4 (4 g) - Premium Performance Thermal Paste for All Processors (CPU, GPU - PC), Very high Thermal Conductivity, Long Durability, Safe Application, Non-Conductive --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.nz/products/48924187-portable-anti-static-mat-foldable-mat-to-protect-sensitive-electronics](https://www.desertcart.nz/products/48924187-portable-anti-static-mat-foldable-mat-to-protect-sensitive-electronics) --- *Product available on Desertcart New Zealand* *Store origin: NZ* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
