Good toy
My grandson aged 15 months is fascinated with the household Dyson but of course this is deemed "unsuitable" as a plaything. Well done Casden for recognising this opportunity to offer a smaller and lighter version which is indeed suitable. It has given lots of pleasure and so far has not broken. A key point is that it stands up on its own. Indeed the little chap has only just started to walk and gripping the handle helps him up. I read previous reviews before I splashed out. The three position switch "off/wand suction/growling noise" is not stiff so maybe the makers have listened. However push buttons would have been preferable to a slide switch. Indeed the cleaner does not pick up from the main carpet fitting on "growl" setting but there is suction through the flexible tube on the first on setting. Although weak it will pick up "crumbs" of polystyrene packing material. I would recommend this toy. Added 9th Feb 2013 - Ten months later my Grandson still loves this toy. He is strong enough now to have no problem with the slide switch and has learned to switch off after "use" to save the admittedly expensive batteries. Most electrical toys nowadays have a feature which automatically powers off after a few minutes and this would be an improvement. The plastic construction is not particularly strong and several repairs with glue and tape have been required. Fun per pound? Still 5 star.

17 month old loves it
I bought this for my grandson for Christmas. Casdon has always been good quality, so I took a chance. This vacuum is no different. The suction will not clean the carpet...it is a toy...but it does pick up small, light grains. The beads spinning fascinates my grandson as does the noise! As he gets older/taller, he will be able to utilise the attachments and empty it for himself, ensuring lasting play. Very happy with this toy

Fab fun but flimsy
Immediately became a firm favourite with my one year old son - toy of choice 50% of play time. Fantastic that it really picks up bits with nossle attachment (very noisy doing so though). Sadly played with by visiting friends (aged one and two - who also loved it) who are a bit rougher and quickly the plastic that fixes the front on broke so will not push forward. So much play value though going to have to get another for my son - he loves it that much! Have contacted Dyson, who say that they are aware of this weakness and are bringing out a newer improved model from end September 2009, if you get one you might like to check it's the new model.

Brilliant Hoover
I had been looking for a hoover for my little girl for a long time, but didn't want to spend too much money on it, i thought that the price of this on Amaaon was very reasonable. My little girl always likes to help Mummy when she is cleaning, so this is brilliant. It looks like you are hoovering up stuff when you turn it on. And acutally picks things up off of the floor when you use the nozzle part of the hoover, you can also empty the bites from the hoover and pick them up, they go into a box at the back on the hoover so that you can put them back, geneous. This hoover actually looks like a Dyson Hoover its brilliant!

Baby Dyson
i bought this product quite spur of the moment for our little 18 month old boy as i'd seen it got positive reviews and was getting soooo tired of him demanding we get the big hoover out all the time. i figured he's love having his own little hoover to march around with, 'tidying' as he goes and on the whole i'd say it was a worthwile purchase, though it does have some flaws... Firstly, this is just a heap of plastic at the end of the day, it feels nasty and looks pretty nasty, the exact opposite of what i wanted him to have when he was born, but he does seem to love it, a learning curve for me perhaps! secondly, the little attachment heads dont sit on the body well at all, constantly falling off their little indents causing much frustration, especially for me when im demanded to put them back on, just for them to fall off again a second later! what else, the suction is useless, fair enough this is a toy but why put a function on that is basically unusable. i resisted putting batteries in for a cupla weeks as i knew once the little guy knew about them he would want them in all the time, adding to the expensive of the toy. The little swirly things are kinda cute but the suction is a waste of time, and the batteries dont last that long! so, on the whole, i think this toy is adequate, im quite surprised it hasnt broken yet with the treatment its been given but thats to its credit, price is reasonable, just dont expect to be able to put your feet up whilst its in action!

Keeps my son engrossed for hours every day
Bought this toy for my son. He is scared of the real dyson and I thought it might help. It has made him a little less scared, but more than that...it is the only toy he really plays with anymore since we bought it. He loves it! It is the first toy he asks for when he wakes up or comes home after being out. 7 weeks after we bought it the hose snapped. I emailed the supplier on a Sunday to say I wasn't happy and would have expected it to last longer. A replacement hose arrived through the post on Tuesday morning. Absolutely excellent customer service. Thank you very much.

Great toy
Although I read all the reviews and I was a bit sceptical I went ahead & bought this for my 3 year old boy for Christmas. He is scared of my Dyson so I thought this might help him & it did. He absolutely loved it and even became less afraid of the real thing, he even started using my little hand held Dyson! So for that alone it was well worth it. It does use batteries quite quickly but my little boy used it every day almost the whole day. I wasn't as flimsy as I expected but I could see that it wasn't a toy for life but for under £15 I have been very pleased with my purchase.

Doesn’t work like a real dyson only sucks air from the pipe not from the bottom of the vacuum. Started making a loud noise on 2nd day of having it and also the front part constantly falls off. Waste of money

Great toy vacuum for Grandaughter

I was hesitant to buy this for my 2 year old son's birthday because about the reviews of it not being very durable and being cheaply made. I went ahead and bought it anyways because of my son's obsession with our vacuum and push toys in general. I was pleasantly surprised!! It is exactly what you would expect for a toy vacuum. No, the suction isn't great, but it's battery operated and safe. Sure, some of the pieces fall off, but that's what happens when you bang plastic against the wall with brute force. The front piece has actually only fell off once on us and that was after a hard hit against the wall. It took a whole 3 seconds to attach it right back on. This was my son's favorite birthday toy and he plays with it for hours! Very happy with this toy--his 3 year old and 6 year old brother love it, too.
