Useful And Fun Drum Product
Brilliant little gubbins, this. These little rubber ball type thingies fit on most sticks (I tried on Vic Firth and Regal Tip 5As and AJ2s myself) and allow you to use any reasonable firm surface as a practice pad. They will allow any drummer to drive anyone nearby absolutely mental by allowing the practicing of paradiddles, ratamacues and double flammed mills (whatever that might be) on the kitchen worktop, the desk, the bedpost, the window sill, the toilet seat, a bar stool, a postbox, a floor, a moon rocket, whatever you can think of. They are easy to pop on and off the tips of your sticks and can be carried in a pocket. If you use them on a practice pad it makes the pad even quieter and the feel of the sticks is pretty good when playing on any of the aforrementioned surfaces. Used on actual drums and cymbals, the UPTs make a mallety noise. If you turn up at a gig and need to make some softer sounds but you forgot the mallets at home, keep a couple of these in your stickbag and, voila, le mallets and you won't look like a disorganised twit. Defo worth buying a pack of these.

Good product but..
They are a great product to use and stay on the sticks as you tap any hard surface - as described. But I don't use them as much as I thought I would. Unless you have a well damped, sturdy surface they can make something like a table make a fair bit of noise. Not the annoying tapping of sticks but a proper thud. Good to have when travelling, but I'm back to using the Vic Firth practice pad because it's much quieter.

Decreases noise.
Decreases noise of sticks, useful on practice pad or a table.

Not noticeable difference in volume
These were useful to produce more mellow sounds on cymbals however there was little to no difference made to the volume produced when drumming on snare and tom drums using the rubber tips. If you want them for cymbal variety effects go ahead but not great for quietening drums. Practise pads are better for quiet practising on drums. I don't regret trying them out but a little pricey for not muting drum sounds.

Great for beginners
Bought these while starting drum lessons for the first time as recommended by my instructor. They are handy if you haven't got a drum kit yet to practice the basics, have a decent reverb and mimic the feel of hitting a drum kit but mainly useful for practicing rudiments and getting familiar with the sticks.

Excellent product from Vic Firth - Saves bring a practice ...
Excellent product from Vic Firth - Saves bring a practice pad with you and gives off nice accents/ghost notes as the rubber is 'gummy' and reacts upon impact. I would suggest getting a little drawstring pouch to keep them in. Two pairs is brilliant for when I am teaching a student. Impressed...
These practice tips are perfect for practicing on the go when a whole practice pad or drum kit isn't available. They do not provide the exact same bounce as a pad or snare drum however they are perfectly sufficient for building up wrist speed and arm movement; also stick technique. They are very portable and also look good couples with the black Vic Firth 5B Sticks

Great solution for quieter practice
Easy to fit, authentic bounce, lower volume - ideal.

I bought these for my kid, who likes to play Taiko Drum Master at all hours of the day. The slight dampening effect is great, it creates a larger hit area, fits well on kid's drumsticks (pearl type) and I think the drum controller will last longer

I bought this to reduce the noise of playing on my electronic drum. It cushion the impact of the tip, noise reduction is less than 10%.

Simple sleeves that slip onto the end of drumsticks that allows them to be used for practice on any hard surface. Good for travel as packing a practice pad is no longer necessary.
