I'm a radio geek. But guess what I was looking for an easy to use repeater capable radio for other family members. This radio fills the bill. You will need to download the cps and program your repeaters' PLs. Uses a kenwood style programming cable. Decent Audio. And the price is right!

I have a pair of these in each one of our vehicles. They are simple to operate and work great when an impromptu caravan happens. The USB-C charging is especially helpful as it means I can charge them without bringing them in the house to do so, and just use the charger that's already in the vehicle. They do have a hard time charging with higher wattage chargers, so be aware of that. The included cable allows you to charge both at the same time.

Tested and they work but it seems to have low mic gain. Radio to Radio seems fine but This radio to another beofeng like uv5r or tigradio, I have to turn up the volume more to hear these radios.More testing is needed.If you buy a few of these for a large warehouse, you will or should be fine. They would right out of the box. 11$-14$ per radio as long as you use all these radios is far cheaper and better then the off the shelf ones.

Use these at work to communicate with coworkers in the attic and crawl spaces. They do the job well.

I've recently been bit hard by the GMRS bug and have bought a dozen or so radios from Baofeng, Tidradio, Motorola, Midland, Radioddity, B-Tech, etc. All these companies make good radios at various price points and features, but none really nail the "family radio" market.For the money and features, these BAOFENG MP31 radios are a steal in my opinion.What makes them the Goldilocks of GMRS radios for the family is as follows:Simple to use: Far too many radios force you into submenu hell and therefore if you don't have the manual handy (or incredible memory and recollection), you'll never figure out what to do. I love that these radios have no menus at all, and have only three buttons and a knob: push to talk, channel up, channel down, and knob for power and value.Waterproof or at least water-resistant: You'd be surprised how hard this is to come by in a low-cost GMRS radioUSB-C charging with a splitter for convenient dual radio charging. This is so simple and so handy.Lastly, detachable antenna in case you want to upgrade to a tuned antenna for better range and/or clarity.My son and I are loving these BAOFENG MP31s.

Love the radios work great for off-roading and around camp. Both usbc charging plugs broke which is a bummer that o have to source new charging cables. Would have gone 5 stars if the cables held up.

I know I say this a lot but if you buy one of these and don’t like it I promise I’ll buy your set and I’ll give you all the money you have invested in it. My wife said I was crazy for buying all these Wilkie talkies until I shared my research with her I showed her when our communication infrastructure fails that these beast of walkie-talkies will shine brighter than the sun So bless the inventor of these modern marvels I don’t want to say too much but I will say if Americans aren’t ready for what’s about to happen I’m truly sorry that they don’t listen I have enough walkie-talkies to communicate with all my family and I have solar power to power my walkie-talkies and all my equipment that I will need when Armageddon hits us so I will say this one time only prepare for what’s about to hit us because communication will be the third most important thing behind food an water and food thanks for reading my post and if you buy these and don’t want them look me up on Facebook and I will buy them I’m not sponsored by them in any way but if they want to sponsor me I will accept it gratefully this is the best built walkie-talkie I’ve purchased and it seems to be sturdy and robust I know the battery life is very awesome and it went over and beyond what they said it would do I actually got two more than what they said also my 4 yr old son mistakenly dropped it into the tin and it not only kept working but it never activated the water dot on the walkie-talkies on the inside where the battery attaches great job baofeng your top w manufacturing shines brightly I really would like to add a repeater but don’t know how so if you can give me some suggestions I would be truly grateful thanks for making above grade products

I was looking for walkie-talkies for a cross country road trip with elderly parents in separate vehicles, and found this. These did their job beautifully and I can't imagine how it would have gone with just cell phones.If you're going on a road trip, get yourself a GMRS license from the FCC (cheap) and a few of these - these are simple enough for non-tech people to learn and they have a very generous range to them as well as a nice battery life. Very grateful!
