Review: It just doesn't work, - I had my doubts that a single LED could work and doubt is correct. Using it in a 30L tank with only Caradina Shimp. The tank is a new set up but I broke it in slowly over 6 weeks. The green algae has been bad. I filtered the algae out until the water was crystal clear and took 5L out and added a fresh ROI then put the UV on a fluval power filter. Within 48 hours it had gone green again. I then filtered it clear again and started again this time limiting the flow to give the UV a better chance...same result. I'd love to know if Fluval have any evidence to prove the system works.

**Q: Can it be use in a hang on filter?**
A: Depends if it fits on the external flow I had to adapt mine for it to connect to my pump so the water flowed through it into the tank

**Q: Hi what is the lifespan of the effectiveness of these led/uv lights?**
A: I have noticed slight difference in water conditions when I have started to use this product first time. In has made water a bit clearer and less to none algae. Seems that efficiency drops over time, and brightness goes down as well. There are 3 tiny led diodes inside (if i remember correctly) and within few years two of them failed, and it has lost efficiency completely, so I got a new one. New one was bright but not sure if I have noticed much of a change in water condition. I can see it is fading a bit again. I am cleaning this sterilizer tiny with soft brush from inside. Algae gets inside quite fast. But to be honest, my fish tank was lacking maintenance and I no longer own this product and fish tank. My advice, if this will be for a pump with a flow up to 200 L/PH there might be a slight benefit from using this one being efficient for up to 2 years, other way it has quite low efficiency and power.

**Q: Is it suitable for my 60 ltr biorb**
A: I bought this over 5 years ago, amazed it’s still being sold - it did not work, at all, not one bit and my tank was tiny. You need to get an actual 5w or 9w steriliser, they actually do the job.

This little 'clip on'UV steriliser is great, but you need to make sure you have the right size filter to push it into. There was very limited choice in my aquatic shops...I had to go out and buy a new filter so wasn't too hard to sort, once I'd got this filter in hand. I suggest you do remember to take this little steriliser with you...I had to do a second run!
