Q: We have Whitechapel. Is this essentially just duplicating the same game, with small exceptions?

It is similar but not the same. I find it easier to play with people new to table tops. If you enjoy Whitechapel you will definitely enjoy Whitehall. Also check out the expansion for Whitechapel. Hope this helps.

Q: How's the replay value?

Very replay-able, but it does depend if you play with the same people or different people and keep the same roles. You need to switch up your strategies (though I don’t know why you wouldn’t) to keep it interesting. It’s a bit like a Sherlock version of battleship.

Q: Whats the difference between this game and the Asmodee version?

Asmodee owns Fantasy Flight. It is literally the same company--and thus the same exact game. also, don't confuse this game with Letters from Whitechapel. They are different games.

Q: Does it work for two players?

Yes, the game plays quick enough that it works well for two-players. One player will play Jack, the other will play the three investigators. Controlling three investigators is quite simple - there is hardly any difference (other than pawn color).

You need this game in your life.

This is a great game weather you're playing with seasoned gamers or complete newbies. It's fast and tense easy enough to pick up quickly but has enormous replay value highly recommend.

Great 'Cat and Mouse' style game

Bought this instead of my initial choice of Letter from Whitechapel (its bigger brother) as the reported shorter game time and smaller box size really appealed to me.One player gets to be Jack with the objective being to drop off parts of a murder around the 4 quadrants of the map, whilst the rest (2-3 other players) get to be the detectives with the goal of apprehending this rather naughty man.As mentioned, it's in a smaller form so it doesn't take much space on the shelf, plus the game board itself is not a table-hog either, which is a massive pro for me.A fun, thematic game full of tension (especially for Jack) - great game!

We bought this to play with some friends however we have also played it as a couple, great game. Tactical but not hard to understand, the first time ever my Fiance has asked to play "just one more game". Great game, simple yet addictive.

Great game!

A great game! It's fun to play both Jack the ripper and also the detectives. A few minutes into our first game we thought it seemed to easy and would catch Jack straight away but we were wrong. After a while the game got quite intense. Can't wait to play again.
