It will last three times longer with proper cleaning. I clean mine IMMEDIATELY after draining the top by finding in cold water bottom to top and then top to bottom. Rinse well. My friend introduced me to Toddy coffee years ago and we LOVE the stuff. These filters last a long time--I rinse them out well, shake off the excess water and store them in a baggie in the freezer until next use. I run them under some warm water to soften them up before placing them in their appropriate spot.
