Click on. One cluck full brightness a second click half brightness then press again to turn off.

No. Compatable with all DeWalt XR 18V style batteries only.

Q: On the label on the side of the torch does it say type 1 or types 2?

It says type 2. The picture is misleading as the light comes without the battery.
