I overextended my thumb while setting during my volleyball lessons. This was a lifesaver and allowed me to continue to play for the remainder of the classes. It provided support for my thumb and gave confidence that I would not cause further injury.

I get "digital thumb" tendinitis with too much laptop work and phone use. This splint was recommended by an OT- hand therapist colleague- have used it several times and even bought a new one. This is the best one on the market and a few days of rest usually solves the problem. Does not interfere too much with your motion or cause skin irritation. However, velcro can snag your clothes, so be careful! Easy to hand wash and quickly dries.

it can aggravate between thumb and finger if worn for extended period

I have severe arthritis in the base of my right thumb. I need a brace all the time for the pain. During the day, I need a flexible brace. But at night, I want my darned thumb to not move at all, so I can sleep. This brace does it for me! It doesn't pull my thumb foreward into the palm (which would hurt like the dickens.) It imobilized the painful part of my hand, and lets me sleep the night through! I never have to worry about an incautious movement tweaking my thumb, and dragging me out of sleep with a yelp of pain.This sizing is rather deceptive. They use clinical terms to describe what to measure. Here's how I'd do it now. Flex your hand, like you're playing "cootchie coo" with a baby. (Your knuckles are straight, but the first joint is bent). The tip of the bent thumb joint is where you're going to start measuring. Now, flex your wrist. Where it actually BENDS, at the base of your thumb, is the other end of where you're measuring.When the brace is on, you should be able to bend the tip of your thumb, and your wrist, but no part of the thumb in between. (BLISS! and NO PAIN!)

My husband paid $90 for this exact brace, at the hand surgeon! I looked for one on Amazon, so he could have a backup, the other one gets dirty at work. Same exact thing, same brand! It came the next day. Had I known, we wouldn’t have purchased it at the doctor’s office!

I was looking for something to support my wrist and thumb while still giving me use of my thumb. My hands are smaller and this just about covers most of my thumb making it pretty much useless. Didn't work for me

It fits great , just hard to close and velcro isn't big enough for the thumb strap and the elastic strap that goes around the wrist. Other than that it works fine.
