Budget fence post protector
Bought this instead of the branded expensive post protector sleeves. I can get 14 x 6” posts wrapped from this one roll at a fraction of the cost. It is not adhesive so I warmed it with a blowtorch first to make it tacky, then after wrapping the posts I applied more heat to melt the bitumen. Quite a neat job, no idea if it will work but it’s a good thick layer of bitumen on the post at the end of the day so should do the job. I will let you know if the posts rot!

sticks very well.
I used it on my plastic roof where the joints were leaking. now there's no leaks. easy to apply, sticks very well. make sure it's right first time, once it's on it doesn't come off. I found warming it and using a seam roller helped. how it works after some weathering I can't say.

Sticks to just about anything
So this stuff can be very easy or be very difficult to work with it all depends on how you approach it. Step 1: don't leave this out in the sun only bring it out when you are about to use it, best to apply in the morning when the sun is not blazing as it will become very sticky and difficult to work with. Step 2: can be done with one person but better with two, this way you can keep it taught and unwind it and remove the protective strip as it's pressed down ( if you're on your own you can still do it) Step 3: once on don't try peel it off this stuff is sticky and will leave a tar like substance behind, it won't be a clean surface. But it does work. I used it to stop water leaking into a bike shed as the felt was craking on the corners so I ran this all the way around and it went around corners without tearing, I snipped the bottom half and overlapped.

DId the job I wanted it for.
Only just got around to leaving a review to see if the tape held up ok and it is still where I put it!! Bought this tape to seal the edges of an old roof that is 10+ years old. the original seal with the wall was starting to come away in odd places so the tape was used to go over the old roof and brick work. How I used it.... I used it on a really hot sunny day, I left it out in the sun for a couple of hours to warm up. the brickwork and roof it went onto was also hot..... To start i tried using rubber gloves to handle it.... big mistake!! It stuck to the latex gloves like mad so soon scrapped them and used bare hands. I was cutting it with scissors but that is also a pain so I switched to a stanley knife blade and that was far easier. Cut off how much you need and peel of the backing tape ( this tended to grab in some areas and pulled off some of the black mastic material but there was still a lot left on the tape. I used a small roller to apply the tape to the wall and roof and get a good seal. If for some reason you drop it and touch something with the tape you shouldn't it will grab hold of everything and be a pain to get off so be careful. It is a little fiddly to use as it sticks like mad ( when warmed up ) I did apply it on a hot day and it is still where I put it so see what happens when it winter sets in.
