I’ve been using the Samsung 990 Pro 2TB for over a year, and it has been one of the most reliable and high-performing components in my PC. My system includes: * Intel Core i5-12600K * Gigabyte RTX 5070 Eagle OC * 32GB DDR5 RAM * MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI motherboard * 4 NVMe SSDs totaling 6TB * Samsung 990 Pro 2TB * XPG Gammix S60 2TB * WD Black SN770 1TB * Lexar NM790 1TB The Samsung 990 Pro is dedicated to my content creation workflow, including video editing, gameplay recording, stock footage storage, project files, and exports. I regularly work with large video files, and this drive has consistently delivered excellent performance. Projects open quickly, footage scrubs smoothly, and transferring hundreds of gigabytes of data takes far less time than older SSDs I’ve used. Gaming performance is also excellent, with fast game loading times and a very responsive overall system experience. After a year of heavy daily use, the drive remains stable, fast, and reliable. I’ve experienced no data loss, no performance issues, and no unexpected problems. Samsung Magician software is also a nice bonus for monitoring drive health and keeping firmware up to date. Pros: ✅ Exceptional performance for video editing and content creation ✅ Fast game load times ✅ Reliable for long-term storage of important projects and data ✅ Consistent speeds even under heavy workloads ✅ Excellent software support Cons: ⚠️ More expensive than budget Gen4 SSDs, but the quality and performance justify the price Final Verdict: If you’re a content creator, editor, streamer, or gamer looking for a premium PCIe Gen4 SSD, the Samsung 990 Pro is an easy recommendation.
