The barbs on the hook are almost non existent. Also hooks are smaller than other 3/0 hooks I ordered before.

For the most part these are nice hooks. They are sharp, the metal is strong and although others report they break I haven't found that to be the case. I really like the position of the bait holder barbs. Plenty of room to snell the line yet they hold the worm pretty well.On the down side, the quality control is a bit lacking. Several of the hooks are just fine, but some have eyes where the tag end is sticking up and even sharp. I can't use these for fear of the line being cut by the eye. That being said, I'm guessing 15-20 of the hooks had some type of defect. So, consider you're getting 100 very usable hooks and this is still an affordable option.Additional information - I found these do set themselves in the fish's mouth, but I also found they seem to tear the area more than other hooks. My experience is they seem to find the soft spot in the mouth of a walleye. It's more the size of the hook versus a poor design. Bottom line, I'd recommend going up a size (4 to 2) for walleye just so the hook catches deeper in the mouth.

Excellent product. The hooks arrived sooner than expected so I was able to try them out. They were extremely sharp and bit deeply into the bony mouth of salmon. I crushed down the barb on the hook tip myself to facilitate easy extraction though because with the barb on function it doesn't want to let go. I watched many people lose fish to straightened hooks or hooks not set deeply enough but I didn't have any of those issues.

Used for trout fishing with powerbait dough and nightcrawlers and worked well. Did not lose any fish. Decent quality hooks and will use with live minnows for crappie later this year. I'm going to keep buying these hooks, such a great deal!
