worth every penny.
This product has already paid for itself. I have diagnosed two problems, not serious, which puts my mind at rest, and this has made it possible to remedy them with no dealer costs involved. The engine lights are reset and this has saved at least £40. I have also helped friends with their engine light/ engine managment problems. The biggest problem, when using it on different cars is finding the OBD2 connectors, but a quick google search will generaly help find the location.I appreciate that there are apps on the market for a fraction of the cost, and these are no doubt useful for some users and will get identical results. However, anyone considering buying a smartphone app should bare a couple of points in mind. These are the reasons I opted for the ScanGauge:-I wanted the option of a hard wired Gauge. I use bluetooth hands free on my phone so did not want any conflict. The phone apps all use Bluetooth connection. Obviously this will also drain phone battery. I also use my phone on occasion as a sat nav, so there would be another conflict. One of the primary reasons for the Gauge is to help with driving economy. I usually get the best mpg out of my cars, but every little helps! So I want to be able to see at a glance exactly what I am doing at any point, and not have to worry about turning on an app every time I get in and out of the car.The next point probably relates to my phone, ( I have a Samsung Galaxy s3) If this is turned on with screen on, and on charge, it does not take long for it to start overheating. So again a good reason to use this above my phone. So, on the whole, this is a great device. The only way it could be made better is by building some sort of control into it that could allow fine tunning of the ECU, within set perameters, but that may be lost on many. It is every bit as good as expected. I would recommend anyone taking the above into consideration, to buy one of these!

Amazing machine.
Epic piece of kit. Does everything I was hoping for and more. Was a bit worried of compatibilty issues with Renault cars after reading about it on the net, but thankfully it works 100% on a 2009 Renault Clio. Piece of cake to get hang of and use. The only hard part is deciding where to mount the thing. Also there seems to be a bit of overlap with the fault codes. I have a faulty airbag at the minute and this does pick it up but reports it as a glow plug issue. I think a little more investigating is needed, maybe I have a glow plug problem too 😶 hopefully not though. If your considering buying, go for it, you won't regret it.

Excellent bit of kit
Fitted this to my 04 plate Freelander to see what's going on, lots of gauges to choose from, very handy, proved I had a faulty thermostat as soon as I fitted it.Very easy to install, plug and play, connect the cable, choose what you want to display and you're up and running.

Accurate and easy to install
It seems very accurate. The only thing that is not perfect is the fact that it don't have a trip history that include every records since ever, what i mean is a trip that include all the trips to have Avarage values. Besides that it is very good. Easy to install and to setup, less than a minute.

Great buy as a water temperature gauge and also to read engine fault codes.
I bought this to monitor the water temperature on a 2008 BMW 330D diesel with 70,000 miles on the clock. BMW thermostats are prone to fail before 100,000 miles and if they do so stick open causing the engine to run cool. If this happens the diesel particulate filter will not regenerate and become blocked, which is about £1000 to replace. These cars do not have a water temperature gauge so the ScanGauge II is very reassuring. It also can show a whole range of other parameters. It can also read car fault codes. My wife's 2003 Mini developed a starting problem at 90,000 miles. The ScanGauge II recorded a fault code which I looked up on the Internet. It was a failed O2 sensor. It was reassuring that when I took it to the garage that that is what they also diagnosed and charged me for.All in all it is a great buy.

Fitted this into the dash board of my Defender, ...
Fitted this into the dash board of my Defender, give me live data which is very handy to spot trouble before it happens.I crossed a ford the other day & it caused the engine management light to come on.I hit the scan button & 5 fault codes codes came up, i hit clear faults & turned the ignition off & then back on to start the engine. All faults were gone and no engine light & saved my bacon for the drive home.
