Q: How long is power cable? And can you remove temperature from the projection and just have time shown?

Power cable is 2 metres long. I don't see an option to remove the temperature from the projection display, but to be fair, Ive never really tried.

Q: If there is a power cut at the time the alarm is due to go off, does the battery backup have enough power for the alarm to work (being a coin battery)

It certainly does for it has a back-up battery, the power of which kicks-in instantly to ensure service continuation. This is by far the best bedside clock I have ever known...it is faultless, truly. Good Luck! [ Incidentally, why the self-professed Youshiko Seller (see other Comment) claims the answer to be "no" is as absurd as it is baffling as to why he/she thinks that! ]

Q: What height are the time digits on the main unit (not the projected time). I plan on using this around 12 feet away on the other side of bedroom.

The time display digits on the clock face are 3.5 cms high and quite readable from 12 feet with normal eyesight.

Q: Can this be run permanently on batteries, or is the battery *only* a back-up in case of power cuts?

I bought this unit for my mum and she keeps it plugged in at all times. I had a look at the website and it appears to run okay using batteries although the projection appears to be turned off to conserve power. I believe there is a downloadable manual on the internet if you search for it and it may provide more details.
