Solid, well-balanced hammer with great build quality
This Stanley hammer is excellent quality and has a great weight to it. It’s slightly heavier than standard, which I prefer as it gives more impact and control, though some might find it a bit on the heavy side. So far it has handled every job with ease and feels very well made and durable. A reliable tool that performs exactly as it should - hope this helps.

Solid, well-balanced hammer, excellent value for everyday use
I picked up this Stanley 20oz fiberglass claw hammer for under £10, mainly as a general-purpose hammer for shed and DIY work. At that price, expectations were sensible rather than high, but it’s been a pleasant surprise. Build quality is good for the money. The high-carbon steel head feels solid and well finished, and the fiberglass handle gives it a nice balance without feeling harsh in use. It doesn’t feel flimsy or disposable, which is often the risk at this price point. In use, it does exactly what you want a hammer to do. Driving nails is straightforward, the weight feels well judged for general work, and the curved claw pulls nails cleanly without needing excessive effort. The vibration dampening is noticeable and helps reduce shock through the handle, especially when striking harder surfaces. Grip and comfort are decent. It sits well in the hand and doesn’t feel awkward or slippery, even during longer jobs. Overall, excellent value for money at under £10. A simple, well-balanced hammer that’s suitable for everyday DIY and shed use. Not a specialist tool, but a solid, reliable option that’s hard to fault at this price.

Gets the Job Done—And Gives You a Good Excuse for a Tea Break
Packaging & First Impressions: The Claw Hammer (450g) arrived well packaged and ready for action—no dents, dings, or mysterious oily residue. Always a relief when your new tool doesn’t look like it’s already survived a building site. Design & Comfort: This hammer has a comfortable, non-slip handle that fits nicely in the hand, even if you’re more used to holding a remote than a tool. The weight feels just right for most jobs: heavy enough to drive a nail into stubborn timber, light enough that you won’t need a recovery day after hanging a picture frame. The ergonomic grip means you can swing away without worrying about the hammer flying across the room and adding “replace window” to your to-do list. Everyday Use: I’ve used this hammer for all the classics: - Hanging photos (because the wall looked too empty) - Assembling flat-pack furniture (and occasionally threatening it with the claw end) - Removing old, bent nails from a garden fence, which, thanks to the curved claw, was almost enjoyable—if you enjoy small victories over stubborn hardware. - It’s also perfect for those moments when you want to look busy in the shed while actually just hiding from household chores. Performance: The hammer delivers a solid blow, and the claw pulls out nails with minimal drama or cursing. The shock-absorbing handle is a nice touch, especially if you’re prone to missing the nail and hitting your thumb (not that I’d ever do that, of course). The balance between the head and handle is good, so you get decent control whether you’re tapping in tiny pins or going full Thor on a stubborn nail. Pros: - Well-packaged and ready to use - Comfortable, ergonomic, non-slip handle - Great for a range of DIY tasks—hanging, assembling, demolishing - Claw makes nail removal easy and oddly satisfying - Good balance and shock absorption Cons: - If you’re hoping for a magical hammer that does the work for you, this isn’t it - Not as heavy-duty as some pricier, professional models—don’t expect to build a house with it in a weekend - Won’t help you find the nails you drop in the grass Overall: If you need a reliable claw hammer for everyday DIY, this one is a solid choice. It’s comfortable, well-balanced, and makes you feel like you know what you’re doing—even if you’re just pretending to measure things for a bit of peace and quiet. Just don’t expect it to turn you into a master carpenter overnight. For most home projects, it’s more than up to the task—and gives you a great excuse to take a well-deserved tea break.

Beautiful hammer
I recently purchased the Stanley 20 oz hammer (STHT0-51310), and it has quickly become one of my favorite tools. The build quality is exceptional, with a solid, well-balanced design that makes it easy to handle for both light and heavy-duty tasks. The anti-slip grip on the handle is a standout feature, offering excellent comfort and control, even during prolonged use. The claw design is sharp and efficient for removing nails, while the head delivers precise and powerful strikes. The 20 oz weight is perfect for versatility, as it’s heavy enough for tougher jobs but still manageable for finer, more detailed work. Overall, this is a reliable and durable hammer that reflects Stanley’s reputation for high-quality tools. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a professional-grade hammer that performs flawlessly!
