Solid, Professional-Grade Tape Dispenser This Excell ET-12270 twin-roll steel desk top dispenser turned out to be a lot more impressive than I expected. First thing you notice is the weight—this thing doesn’t budge when you pull tape. The all-metal construction feels sturdy and industrial, not like the lightweight plastic dispensers that slide around or crack over time. The finish is a clean blue/grey that actually looks nice sitting on a desk or workbench. What I really like is the twin-roll setup. You can load two rolls at once—great for keeping packing tape and masking tape (or two different widths) ready to go without constantly swapping them out. The 3-inch core size fits standard rolls, and the 2-inch width capacity gives you flexibility for both narrow and wide tape. The cutting blade is sharp and slices cleanly through heavy-duty packing tape with minimal effort. One thing to keep in mind is that because it’s steel, it’s not light—you’ll want it on a solid surface, not a flimsy shelf. Also, it’s built for utility more than portability, so it’s best suited for a work desk, shipping station, or craft area where it stays in place. Bottom line: A rock-solid, professional dispenser that makes tape work quicker, cleaner, and less frustrating. If you use tape regularly, this one is worth the upgrade.

Extremely well designed and great value for the money. Love that the yellow flipper protects the grid so the cutter stays protected. Nice and compact size- heavy enough to use one handed, and lightweight enough to move as needed.

Get this tape dispenser even if it costs a few $$$ more than some others. This is an awesome tape dispenser that allows you to have two different rolls of tape that turn independently. You can pull either roll individually, both rolls, or use for a wide 2" roll of tape. Very rugged metal body, metal axle pin, and very sharp cutting blade with a nice protector. The design is really nice, it catches the tape in two places allowing you to get your finger in between to grab the next piece. Also has a cutting blade that is wider than the tape rollers (angles apart at the front) so you don't have to be 100% perfectly aligned to cut the tape fully. The only negative is that Amazon shipped it in their signature white plastic baggie and it looks like someone played football with it. The end of the bag was completely torn open and one whole side of the box was crushed in. Good thing this tape dispenser is super heavy duty metal, the only damage was a slight chip in the paint on the back side (see second picture) where the metal pin of the rollers had been mashed against the body by their abuse. Your great grandchildren will be able to inherit this tape dispenser and it will probably still be working great.

I do a lot of online shipping and was looking for a solution that was less frustrating than the silly red "dispensers" that come with the packing tape. I spent more time searching for the end of the tape than I did actually taping things. This dispenser is very well made. It is sturdy and solid. Super easy to change over a roll of tape. The cutting blade is sharp and there's a guard to snap over the blade when it is not in use--a really important safety feature. Also, there is a small bridge piece between the roll of tape and the blade that serves as a resting place to keep the tape from rolling back on itself. The suction cups on the bottom work really well as far as holding the dispenser in place so that you can hold a package closed with one hand while pulling and cutting tape with the other. I do not regularly write Amazon reviews, but felt compelled with this product because it has exceeded my expectations and made life easier and safer. If you are fed up with your current packing tape dispenser, this is the one you need to get!

Awesome quality heavy so it won’t move on my desk! I use this for my regripping station for my golf clubs! Hold my grip tape roll perfectly!

Great dispenser but they don’t sell replacement cores for the 2”. Have to take off a star because my daughter is a teacher in a special needs class and has 5 aides… between the kids and the aides the core got lost. Had to buy a new one to get a new core.

I've had an Officemate Heavy Duty Weighted 2-in-1 Tape Dispenser for exactly 5 years. It was okay at first; not great but it worked okay. It always tore the packing tape ends crookedly when trying to cut them, but it worked better than those handhelds. I never loved the cutting blades for that reason, but I did love that it stayed put as you used it. Fast forward to today and the blades are totally chewed up, bent or broken on both sides just from trying to cut tape, and it almost won't cut it at all. It will, however, still cut fingers as you fight to get a piece of tape to tear off. So, it had to go. We found this model, and, due to the glowing reviews, chose it. It arrived quickly, and was sorely needed to close boxes for Christmas gift wrapping. All I can say is, WOW! I never knew packing tape could be so easy to use. This dispenser makes it a breeze to pull out the tape, but where it gets a WOW! from me is the ease of cutting. EVERY single piece cuts easily, smoothly and without tearing at an angle. Yes, I do wish it stayed put a little better, but, because it only takes one hand, I can use my finger in the place where it dips to hold it still when needed, so that's okay. I like having the blade cover when not using it so I don't accidently cut my hand or fingers by brushing against it. I don't know how many years I'll get out of this, but my guess is longer than our old one. Plus, this one actually does the job we bought it to do, and does it amazingly well. It's at a great price point, so even if I had to replace it every few years, it wouldn't be an issue. If they could make it so the blades are replaceable; it'd be a perfect product, and I suspect it'd outlast me. I highly recommend this dispenser.

I needed somehing to dispense thick rolls of masking tape in my office as I need to constantly label boxes and bins. Super well made and suction cups so it doesn’t wander off. You can even use it one handed which is far more handy then you think! The blade makes a nice clean satisfying cut. I recommend!

Al principio dude por el precio, pero la realidad es que ahorra mucho tiempo al momento de empaquetar ya que es muy sencillo su uso, a veces no se trata de una herramienta muy elaborada, a veces solo es algo sencillo que cumpla su función.

All I got to say this has changed my life. I was cutting tape with my teeth or scissors for the longest time trying to pack my packages to mail and took me forever cutting a strip here and a strip there and trying to find a place to hang my tape. Now it’s a quick rip with one hand and taping my packages is fun again. Best money I have spent in years and this thing is a heavy well made product that doesn’t move when taking tape off. Highly recommend if you ship sometime or a lot. Works well with my $1.25 I get from dollarama also
