**Q: Does this item have to sit on the floor, or can you hang it higher on the wall?**
A: Hello, for your safety, we do not recommend that you hang it higher on the wall.

**Q: Do i need to attach the wall mount or can it stand on its own?**
A: We had to mount it to the wall. It’s not sturdy enough to stand on its own. For safety reasons, I would mount it to the wall.

We rent it moved and my son’s room is on the smaller side. We used his bookshelf but his previous room but it was too deep and took up too much space. I found these and wanted to give them a try! They fit the space very well and secured easily to the wall. I removed the quarter round around our trim to they would sit flush. The only downside I found so far is- the assembly was a bit tricky the first round but I was much faster on the second since I knew what I was doing AND the selves are not equally space or spaced well for larger books. We had to place taller books on the top shelf only. The remaining there books could only accommodate first readers, horizontally laid books, chapter books or board books. Although that part is annoying these still allowed me to display the books in a functional but pretty way!
