Takes time to unlock the keys in order to manage them but was the best solution I could find when I needed a more robust keyholder and organiser. Would be nice to have larger one. Thank you!

I set out to streamline my EDC gear this year and finding a better system for carrying my keys was one of my priorities. Fora lot of people key organizer are about getting rid of the “jingle” and the Ridge does that, but I wanted something that made it feel like I was carrying less in my pockets and that’s where the Ridge really excelled. I sampled a handful of different options and settled on the Ridge Key Organizer. It holds my keys nicely and has a slim enough form factor that it’s not obtrusive in dress pants. They have a great selection of colors to choose from. Loading the Keys is fairly intuitive and the materials are good quality. I’ve been carrying mine for a couple months and it’s held up well without any chipping or scratching. I do wish they had an option with no clip. The clip is removable but that leaves some awkward looking holes on the side and the screws are too long to go back in without the clip installed. I left it as it was and it hasn’t been an issue. The Ridge Key Organizer is on the pricier side but I feel like it was worth the money.

I think the key case is heavily slept on in the EDC world for minimal carry, and at least deserves a bit more widespread recognition. Ridge uses a tension bar in the frame to always give the contents inside a better fit, which is 50/50 depending on how you set up the key case. I find this a bit gimmicky, but does help with the “detent” when set up on the looser side for flicking the contents out, which imo is the best way to set up the key case as it makes it easily 1 hand operable. While overall the key case is a solid package, Ridge has always kinda been under fire for how overpriced their stuff is when keybar, keyport, keysmart, orbit key, etc exists, and this key case isn’t any different. But imho, you’re mostly paying for their incredibly good warranty that in the key case’s case, will cover all parts that will probably fail in the coming years no questions asked. Potential longevity is the main reason I’d recommend the key case, or any Ridge product over all else if function isn’t of any concern. Rant for those who’d bother: Since I’ve seen some talk about this, I would probably not recommend to buy a cheap knock off key case because honestly, there are a lot of nicer, and better mainstream options that will last longer than the subpar build of the knock offs with probably no warranty. The only gripe I have is there are next to no OEM/aftermarket support for milled clips, since I’m pretty sure the current clip will bend when it inevitably gets caught on something.

This is really 4.5 stars. Like all Ridge stuff the quality is superb. The finish and function are excellent. The ‘locking’ function of the main screw eliminates worry that it may work itself loose. The spring-action tensioner seems to work quite well. I loaded 4 key-items which fit nicely. Adding a fifth or a sixth key looks possible but may make it feel bloated. Now for the improvements that would make this a 5 star. First is the pocket clip. It ~works but needs a bit more clearance to fit jeans better. Second is the D-ring for bulky key/fob attachment. The D-ring is pinned/fixed in place. Changing this to a screw-in D-shackle would allow more flexibility in attaching bulky key/fobs possibly without the need of a split-ring. I used a micro carabiner to avoid using a ring. Overall this is an awesome key system.
