I tend to read reviews before buying any AZ items over $20. I hesitated ordering this box, due to a couple of reviews that mentioned a foul smell (I am very sensitive to smells). I took a chance and am glad I did. I don't doubt anyone else's experience, but mine was very different. No bad smell, nice looking wood and hardware for the price ... plus, the perfect size for my needs. Mine box actually looked nicer than the AZ image - when does that ever happen? The price was barely more than "decorative" cardboard boxes of similar size - and even less expensive than a few! I'm quite impressed, so much that I'm considering ordering another to have on hand, for some future use, like maybe a fancy gift box.

This box is so beautiful! It fit the 8x10 photo book I made for my father. Very well made, inside is nice. The color is perfect giving it that older look and feel. The lock is sturdy and looks authentic. Love this item! Thank you.

I bought the "Old World Wooden Treasure Box" to solve a problem and it works like a charm! I have to use three different remotes for my TV. They look tacky lying all over the couch. They also slide easily under the couch cushions.The wooden treasure box is the perfect size to house all my remotes in one place and look nice doing it. The box is well made. It's a nice warm brown. It has a felt-like lining on the inside and on the bottom, which is helpful. The latch and the hinges are firmly attached to the box.I only had one complaint. There is a very small nick on the front. It appeared that the nick had to be there before the box was packaged in China. The nick is small, but shows up because it's a lighter color than the rest of the box.If I'd bought the box in a store, I'd have asked for one without nicks. If this nick were bigger, I'd have returned the box. But the thought of repackaging and returning this box and then hoping the new one didn't have some other problem discouraged me from the hassle of exchanging it.Upon reading some of the other reviews, I have one other complaint. Another reviewer said she paid $25 for this box on the 4th of December. I bought it December 10. I paid $31.95 which was listed as a discount from the "regular" price of "34.95." I do not appreciate this kind of price manipulation.

Bought this because it has the Roger Rabbit look, and I have a S&W Governor that also resembles the cartoonish gun used in the film. Great gun, great case, and all you need is that red lavender or red silk bedding to make it 100% cartoonish. I do agree on the latch not being the best, but I think this case is designed to sit horizontally, unloaded, and on display.
