A Silent Voice 1

A Silent Voice's first volume is magnificent. Brimming with beautiful art and strong social commentary on the disabled, it proves to be a strong and emotional read from start to finish and ultimately leaving you wanting to read the next volume. I honestly cannot recommend this series enough, it is a must read for manga fans.

I normally end up reading popular books with a "safe" storyline. That got boring very quickly. After a friends recommendation I decided to give this book a whirl, it sounded different to the books I normally read and I'd never heard of it. It's now, hands down my favourite manga series. The roller coaster of emotions that I felt when reading it made me want to never stop reading, it made me smile, laugh, sigh and cry. I don't think there's any way that I could recommend this enough, just go buy it already.

A Great Start. If you verse well in manga and anime it'll be hard not to have heard of this title, the movie aired earlier this year and was excellent and adapted this volumes well few scenes etc missing for obvious reasons so the definitive way to experience this Title is with none other than with the source material. A story about bullying, this will fill you with emotions that are easily to relate toomight wanna add a box of tissues to go with this one by the time your done.

Have already watched the movie, and let me tell you i thoroughly enjoyed it. I decided on buying the manga and it arrived perfectly, no scuffs, chipping and marks. Delivery was great, go for it!

Bought this as a gift for my manga loving little sister and she loved it. Arrived quickly and in great condition and pretty well priced as far as manga goes. Very happy with my purchase!

Don't get me wrong I did like this, but not as much as I thought I would. Maybe it's just me but Shoya really annoyed me throughout most of this, even when the tables turned against him I didn't feel sorry for him. If your a bully you deserve what comes to you, the fact he didn't think anything except Shoko was a possible alien, really? Kids can be so nasty, whether it's directed at a disabled person or just someone different. I hope this wouldn't actually happen in schools. The more I write about this the more angry I get! Bullying is serious, and it needs to be tackled more in schools. But honestly, if your reading my ranty review, could you say you would forgive someone who bullied you? I couldn't, I can't imagine a good enough excuse for them to come up with to be forgiven. To forgive someone who put you through so much stress and hurt, who didn't think about how it felt for the person they were bullying. Anyway back to the book! For a lot of the time I was scowling at the inside pages hoping Shoya would realise what he's doing, his other 'friends' I hope get what they deserve too. I felt so sorry for Shoko. This book definetly made me feel a lot, but I'm not sure if I'm going to get the second.

本についてですが、日本の漫画のようにハードカバーではなく、教科書のように やや厚い表紙になっており、やや大きめです。 印刷はきれいで読みやすいです。 巻末に漫画の読み方が説明されています。 硝子が振り向くページまでカラーです。 耳なし芳一の説明も英語でされています。 竹内先生のッオイとオラアアァはありません。 送料込みで1300円くらいするんだろうなと思っていましたが、 現物がアメリカで10ドル99セント、カナダで11ドル99セントもします。 ちょっとした高級品ですね。 翻訳も丁寧で生きた言葉ですから、買って損は無いと思います。 買ってよかった('∀｀) とは言えやっぱり1巻は読むのが辛いですね。 2巻も同時に出して欲しかった。

I bought this book after watching the movie on Netflix. I wanted to read the manga just to try things out because I don’t really read manga and so I wanted to see how it was like. Plus I really enjoyed the movie/ storyline. The package was good and delivery was on time. I recommend if you’re into manga and also to watch the movie as well.

Realmente decidí comprarlos después de ver la película, está, por mucho, mas completa la historia, mejor explicada y mas profunda, lo recomiendo para aquellos que disfrutaron de la pélicula
