Perfect educational tool
This was the perfect fun way for my 7 year old to build something fun, and get more familiar with analogue clock. The (quiet) ding every 15 mins keeps the kids attention. The build instructions aren’t perfect but they are good enough. The product itself is amazing thank you so much!

Good enough product
This was bought for my 7 year old who is loving clocks at the minute. Was easy enough to build with an adult being present but more written instructions than visual so a bit harder for a child. Haven't quite worked out the chime, its not going every 15mins from the hour -off 5mins. Requires a play about I think. Also the pendulum will just stop for no reason even when there is plenty of go left in the gear spring. Apart from that though, good buy. My son gets to see how gears and cogs work and can take apart and rebuild easily himself learning as he goes.

Disappointing
Disappointing Christmas gift - fiddly, temperamental, doesn't keep good time at all, difficult to get the chime at the correct times (quarter hourly). Frustrating product for a child who likes accuracy.

stopped working after 5 mins
I liked the concept of this clock and my grandson loved building it with the help of his dad but very disappointed when it stopped working after 5 mins for no reason that we could discern, hence we had a very sad boy who loves mechanical clocks but his would not work!

Has a few smaller parts that younger kids will likely lose after taking it apart and putting it back together multiple times, but otherwise this is an excellent toy for showing gear ratios, pendulums and in general how a windup clock works. Hour hand is not functional, only the minute hand moves.

Great toy that my great grandson loved at first sight. He sat right down and worked on putting it together. He just turned 4. Would recommend.

The six year old I bought this for was obsessed with this clock. He took it to show and tell at school and they were all obsessed with it. It broke pretty quickly, mainly because he refused to be without it. It's not sturdy but its a plastic clock.

The instructions were a bit muddy on how things went together, and the pictures could be larger to see how things go togetther, It took me a 3 tries to get the clock together. It's also very LOUD, puts my 140 year old mantle clock to shame at how loud the ticking is. It's also very fragile, a slight bump and it's flying apart. Keeps time ok though.

It was fun to build this with my son. Unfortunately, it doesn't work because the escapement has too much resistance and doesn't put enough energy into the pendulum. The fitment of the pendulum is so poor that I thought the stool was defective. It isn't, the pendulum is just that loose. The crank placement is very poor and interferes with the pendulum too easily. Very disappointing. Also covered in some kind of mineral oil. Gross.
