![Top Gear - The Patagonia Special [DVD] [2015]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91K91jKMYjL.jpg)

The 11th Top Gear Special is a glorious celebration of the V8 engine, or at least, it was supposed to be. In it, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May take a trio of V8 powered sports cars for an epic and arduous 1600 mile road trip through the spectacular landscapes of Patagonia. Along the way they encounter swamps, deserts, forests, beaches and snowy mountain passes as the threesome and their often malfunctioning machines press on towards the southernmost city in the world and an impending game of car football. Unfortunately, that's not quite how things turn out... EXTRA: Specially edited Australian Road Trip containing deleted scenes never seen on TV (Episode 2, Series 22 - total duration 55 minutes) Review: Clarkson you insufferable oaf! What have you done man!! - These three men manage to make me laugh more than most professional comedians! When im watching any of these specials im totally engrossed, loving the trials and tribulations, all the bickering, humour and epic scenary but most of all, at the end you feel happier about your world and satisfied that you've watched something that is genuinely special. Its just an uplifting experience watching these adventures! Very few movies or tv programmes can do that in my opinion. No spoilers.........On this adventure the hapless trio travel south through Argentina and occasionally hop the border into Chile (when majority vote counts) due to the standard of the roads in V8's from back in the day. So in true Top Gear style, expect lots of repairs and cheeky midnight modifications, lots of getting completely lost, lots of bickering, lots of camping (which only Hammond enjoys) and even the odd injury here and there. What made this Top Gear Special really enjoyable for me was the location (much like Bolivia, Polar). The men are out in the middle of nowhere, fjording rivers and beating tides just to try and carry on their inhospitable journey. Brilliant production and I only hope that Clarkson is reinstated in the very near future Edit.... I recently saw the live show 'Clarkson, Hammond & May' (which was excellent btw) and Clarkson pretty much said the trio would be back on our screens, in some form, in the future. Personally I hope CH4 pick it up as they wouldnt interfere. Review: Sad end to a fantastic team - i have been a top gear fan for the full 14 years it has been on with jezza, hamster and captain slow. These guys made me laugh so much I thought I was going to have to go to A&E!! When I heard about the trouble with the guys in Argentina I thought jezza and the guys had done it again and upset someone but if you watch it I don't think that was their intention at all. This dvd includes the Aussie road trip too which is great too. I will miss these guys so much, they have been a massive part of my life and my family too. These guys are gods, I miss them already. A great final farewell to a great era in tv history. BBC, you've made a big mistake.

A tale about big bad losers from 1982
It is a typical Top Gear Special jolly jape and quite good -- it's a pity that much of the trip was not properly filmed because the lads were running for their lives -- a lot of filming was done by phone camera. Not a good idea for any Brit to go there - any proper research by the BBC beforehand would tell them the Argies really hate the Brits and it would be turned into a rallying point for the bad losers from the Falklands War plus the average Argie thug -- I went all over Argentina a while back and saw notices everywhere calling the Brits murderers, pirates, thieves and saying we were not welcome - I would never go there again unless I was flying a Vulcan -- maybe Jezza should revisit flying one of them fully loaded?

TOP GEAR SPECIAL SPECIAL
Its a Top Gear special whats not to like and has its moments of fun, male bonding and life threatening situations that are Hammond, May and Clarkson at their best, At the top of their game in Top Gear.

Who knew this would be the last one made???
Who knew when I bought this DVD that it would end up being a collectors piece. With the sad sacking of Jeremy Clarkson, this will be the last Top gear special but hopefully not the last of the three amigos and their adventures. I love all three together and if you watch the Australian episode, it will make you laugh as they make a reference to the whole license plate number. The world has gone PC mad and while I don't agree with everything Clarkson says, being the BBC you would think that they knew what would happen and let it play out anyway. Witty banter, amazing scenery and the cars aren't bad either.. Buy this as a memento and sit back and enjoy.

The last Top Gear special.
It's ironic that the last Top Gear special with Clarkson, Hammond and May ended in the same way the trios time at Top Gear ended...with a bang. I love the trio and it is more or less a kind of love letter to their time at the show. It is a shame that the special ended off with controversy. But that was due to horrible locals that hate the British. I will watch this special every Christmas (as I do with all Top Gear specials). If you are a fan of the REAL Top Gear and of the trio and haven't watched this yet, you will not be disappointed.
