Perfect for elderly people or persons with special needs
My parents are elderly, have issues with memory, difficulty finding phone numbers in their cell phone, hard of hearing. So this phone was perfect. With a picture of their common contacts they a call people easily, they don’t have to fumble with the cell phone or remember to charge it which was the biggest issue with my dad. Now, he has no excuse for not answering the phone when we call. My mom can easily adjust the volume and hear every word unlike before. It was the greatest piece of mind for us, as kids to be able to reach them. My mom can easily adjust the volume and hear every word unlike before. And with the option to all the emergency button, one can program who gets notified or in what sequence when the button gets pressed if we choose to purchase that later. The phone was very easy for my mom to program. Well worth the money.

Great Phone For Seniors!
My mom's in assisted living and this phone really solves confusion issues she has in disconnecting at the end of our calls. The phone can be answered by picking up the receiver and hanging it back up to disconnect. It can also be answered by pressing the speaker button and pressing it again to end the call. If not disconnected, the signal is loud and clear, letting her know to press the button again. We love it!

Great for Elderly who can’t deal with a smartphone
This phone coupled with MagicJack Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) or simply IP phone adapter solved most of the problems my 94 year old mother-in-law had with using a smartphone or flip phone. The ringer can be turned up LOUD so we know she hears it. There’s also a red bar above the dial pad that flashes for incoming calls. There are eight large buttons above the dialpad that can be set up for one touch dialing. We put the initials of people she regularly calls on those buttons. You can insert pictures if you want. The dialpad has large buttons to help those with poor vision. The only problem is there is no caller id display on the phone. Our work around was to keep her old number on her smartphone and get a new number for the IP phone. We set up call forwarding no answer through T-Mobile. We had trouble with AT&T call forwarding as it did not show the caller ID on the smartphone. After three rings on the smartphone the call is sent to the VTECH. Just be certain to turn down the ringer on the smartphone. The problem with this configuration is when an outgoing call is made from the VTECH the new IP number is the caller ID seen at the other end. We’re still trying to work that out. Caller ID displays are available and will work with IP phone adapters.

Super loud and easy to set up
Phone works as it should, the custom buttons are great for the elderly and easy enough to set up. I want to let buyers know that this phone is LOUD!!!! If you turn it all the way up it sounds like a machine gun going off in the nursing home, it’s AWESOME. If your elderly family member doesn’t like using their hearing aids, this phone will get through to them.

No caller ID, no support, no interest
At first glance this is a perfect phone for elderly and disabled. The big numbers and 7 speed dial buttons where photos can be inserted is a marvelous strategy. Unfortunately, loud ringing cannot be adjusted lower. There is no caller ID, in spite of Amazon's promotion that the phone has caller ID. There is no window to view caller ID, so it is curious why Amazon promotes it? For everyone, especially seniors, caller ID is an important protection and technical service. Worse of all is the non-existent customer or technical support. The Vtech automated system never offers a connection to a live agent. Instead of waiting on-hold, elected to receive a call back. It's been 4 hours, clock running, and still no call back. Returning the SN1127.

Pretty happy so far, seems well thought out
Bought this for my elderly mother who uses Ooma. Seems like a great phone for the elderly. It's missing caller ID but you can use another phone or device if you want that. I like the volume (loud ringer and handset volume), flashing red indicator light while ringing, one-button calling with the speed dial (don't even have to pick up the handset because it will use the speakerphone). It seems like it was well thought out. And yes, there is a ringer volume control but you only get high, low, and off. High is really loud. I will update this review if anything changes.
