Frog and Toad Collection: A Box Set of 3 Books from the Classic Animal Friendship and Adventure Series, Great for Growing Reading Skills and Early ... for Kids [Ages 4-8] (I Can Read Level 2)

Absolutely enchanting stories, whimsically illustrated, of two great friends who do everything together. So funny and silly I laughed out loud several times and I'm 47! This is a wonderful collection, not quite all of the series however. I had to buy the last one ("Frog and Toad Together") separately. Any child will love these funny, silly tales where the love of the 2 characters for one another shines through everything they do.

On the advice of a teacher I bought these for my son when he became interested in reading signs but still preferred to be read to and claimed he couldn't read. We would read them together: him a line, me a line. The characters and stories are very engaging, for both young and old, so one doesn't tire of them. Then after a couple of weeks of this, one day he picked up the book and read us a whole page, and within a week a whole story. Months later, they still remain his first choice to read to himself, and we have lots of fun laughing over the situations that Frog and Toad get into and out of, as they relate very well to a child's normal experiences (ice cream melting too fast, not wanting to get up in the morning) and form excellent non-moralistic talking points about situations, solutions and behaviour in general. I am now about to buy some more of the Arnold Lobel books and several parents at the school have borrowed from us, then bought their own, copies. There are some Americanisms in the books, but they don't get in the way of a story that British children can understand and come to love.

These are lovely stories which my girls love for the stories alone, but they are also great as examples of how friends treat each other and I use them for discussion about what friendship is and what it means. Everyone needs a copy of these books in my opinion!

Nicely boxed together, these books take me right back to my childhood and I enjoy re-reading them to my son. Lovely stories and illustrations, with the fantastic characters of Frog and Toad.

Bought these for my 5 year old son. He read 2 of the books which he bought home from school and loved them so much he cried when he'd finished them. Beautiful stories, nicely illustrated.

I only came across these books recently, when a colleague brought them into the classroom. Wow, they are super! Simply charming characters (sensible Frog and daft,dippy Toad)and a series of situations in which the two friends find themselves. I originally thought I would use them for work, but they are not leaving my house! A really lovely find (the illustrations are superb as well).

I adore these stories. They are so tongue in cheek yet sum up life's little dilemmas. Children like the language and rhythm

I used to read these books when i was a kid & 25years later my kids love them too! Great stories about two friends accompanied by the sweetest of illustrations. My son & daughter love them & iv just bourght another set for my 5year old nephew. Timeless classic!

If you are teaching your children to read, this is a book that you can introduce to them. While they enjoy the moments of friendship, kindness and love between frog and toad they would have learnt how to read.

Frog & Toad had become mine and my boys absolute favourite bed time stories when we got one of them from the library. My curiosity got the best of me and I checked Amazon for our fav reads but I wanted many. They give you three when there are 4 books… which is really truly sad. It’s almost a shame they don’t make gold hard covers for these and sell it as a gorgeous full set. Arnold Lobel… the author has passed :( and they don’t give these books enough clout. My kids and I look forward to starting his other books “mouse soup” and other fables, etc! Great price, amazing books! Our fav story is “Shivers” from the frog and toad series, certainly age appropriate. Worth your money. Just wish the appreciation was shown MORE for such great work on Arnold’s part!

I read these stories as a kid and now I'm reading them to my children. Funny and short, they hold my kids' interest. A great series to work with kids starting out on their reading journey.
