Q: Will this case still slide into a backpack at the end of the day?

Yes it will slide into a full size backpack but maybe not the small narrow backpacks.

Q: Is this case for a 11.6 HP chrome book or bigger size. The info and ratings are very confusing!

11.6" may be to small. The product is compatible with multiple sizes but we use ours for a few 13" books which fit pretty well but loose.

Q: Does the bag allow a power cord to be plugged into the side of the laptop?

Into the side with it is open or closed depends on where the plug in port is. I am able to charge my son's google chromebook while it is in the case with no issues.

Q: Will an acer chromebook 14, cb-431 work in this case?

I am pretty sure it will because we use it for my son's Google chromebook that is 14 inches and it fits perfectly and works absolutely great to ensure it is n protected with a 11 year old boy
