Lodge 1.89 litre / 2 quart Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Dutch Oven/Serving Pot (with Loop Handles)

I bought this to up my breadmaking game. I went for the 7qt version because I wanted to go large on the loaves. I'm baking 1.5kg recipes and the 7qt accommodates this very well. The 5qt would be fine for 1kg loaves in my opinion. I went pure cast iron because they can take any temperature and, provided you keep it dry after use, it'll conceivably last forever. I've looked at hyper expensive alternatives and, now I have this, I really can't imagine needing anything better. I'm very much into high quality cookware and the Lodge is perfectly good for me. I seasoned it once (came pre-seasoned, but I did it as a precaution) and it hasn't needed anything since. I use it for bread only and I use parchment paper for lining it. The bread results (the photo was my second attempt) are incredible. If you're up for bread making this is a game changer.

Arrived today in great condition in very good time from the US, we have several pieces from lodge and we use them all the time, if you look after them they won't go rusty , we got the dutch. oven for baking bread.and are really pleased with this purchase . it arrived well seasoned but we did it twice more in the oven and its ready to cook in.

I love Lodge cast iron and have quite the collection! I bought this model specifically for baking my Sourdough loaves and after a wee wait (just under 2 weeks) my Dutch oven arrived safely from the USA, the home of Lodge. Very happy with it xx

DEAR SIRS! AFTER HAVING USED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED THE BACK OF THE LEAD WHEN I WAS CLEANING IT SOME VERY UNUSUAL KIND BROWN THICK PASTE IS IT NORMAL? EVEN WHEN IS DRY IT LEAVES THAT BROWN STAIN. PLEASE CAN SOME BODY TELL ME IF IT IS NORMAL? IT DID COST OVER £90.00 POUNDS.ALL I WANT IS AN ANSWER TO THAT EFFECT.

Useful when you don’t need a big pot, many uses, even bake my banana bread, I use on my glass electric top hob

Much cheaper than enamel ware; gets better with age; can be cleaned up and re-seasoned very easily. No substitute!

Good solid iron pot will last a lifetime if cared for and seasoned regularly.

First time buying a lodge. Arrived on time. The package had no protection inside, the dutch oven was loose in it, travelling from the US to UK. The lid is chipped and rusted. See picture. Disappointed 😞
