Just received the desk mat today, and so far I'm happy with it. It arrived packaged well in a cardboard cylinder. After opening and placing on my desktop it is a bit smaller than I was expecting. The color is exactly what was advertised and the quality seems good (so far). I do not have any of the cracking that other reviewers have described. But even if it does eventually start to crack I'm sure an application of leather honey will fix it. Texture, color, and smell are all what I was expecting. Stitching is good around the borders and matches the color tone of the leather. My mouse tracks perfectly on it. It was rolled a little tightly inside the box and the leather has not yet had time to relax (as you can tell by the sides of the pad in the pictures). Im sure the edges will flatten over time and relax. So far I'm happy

That being said to anyone who is a lover of genuine leather, who knows the smell, who knows the feel and the texture this product is for you. I wish I could bottle up the smell and put it into my car. It came EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED AND LOOKS EVEN BETTER THAN IT DOES IN THE PHOTOS THAT THEY’RE USING. I have a very specific color designed to my office and required something that matches both my leather chair and the wood furnishing that surrounds the desk and floor. These people DM to me and helped me pick the exact match within their inventory to work within my color palette. After I received the first one I had to get another. I don’t know about you, but there is a single seller out there no matter what the product is or what you pay for that will help you to that level. It spreads over my desk perfectly and compliments what I want to a degree that you’d expect to pay $200 - $300 for this on Restoration Hardware. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship is unparalleled. I don’t wanna sound too much like a fanboy, but I would highly recommend. Sure it may protect your desk if you have some high-quality wood, but in my case, it is the single item that makes my desk look good. Huge thank you to the craftsmanship and care that has gone into making such a thing it takes me back to the old days of the very first leather jacket that I ever wore and what it felt like putting it on. I now feel like that every time I sit down to work.

I suffer from glare issues and I have a pine wood colored desk at work so I was looking for a professional looking solution to cover my desk area in a darker color. This fit the bill nicely. It's real leather (smells just like walking into a leather store) and seems well crafted. The surface is smooth and doesn't have that textured leather grain to it--it comes rolled so I do feel some minor "wrinkling" from where the leather was stretched a teeny bit from being rolled, but its not a big deal. It feels substantial enough in thickness to be durable, but not so thick that it adds too much bulk to your desk surface.. The Kona color is like a warm chocolate color. It came in a drawstring bag so it was easy for me to bring to my office from home, and also comes with a little tray you create using snaps and a coaster which I have been using on top of the surface in case drink condensation would damage the mat (it doesn't seem to affect the coaster so far but I've only been using it for a week). My only complaints would be the very minor wrinkling (thought that may smooth out over time), that the color names don't actually describe the color (if you asked me what color "Kona" was with no reference, I would have no clue!), and I wish they only come 32"x16" and 31"x15" sizes. I would love a longer one--I've seen others that are 36"x17" but this one was real leather and the cost was good so I went with a little smaller.

I love this real leather desk mat. I was a little nervous because of some of the negative reviews, but this real leather desk mat looks and feels great. My mouse glides across it effortlessly. It did have a strong smell to the first day but when I went to work the next morning the smell was gone. It does not scratch easily from what I have experienced. It is real leather so if it does, I can just rub it with some leather conditioner. Worth the price.

I must say, this is really high quality thick leather and it looks beautiful on my executive desk. I love the leather smell too! This has got to be the best desk mat I have ever bought. Well worth it.
