Hard
I've no way of testing diameter precisely, but they are definitely hardened. I got a length of it stuck in a 3dp part, and went at it with pliers to pull it out. I was sure it will be gone, but there's barely any scratch on it at all. Well impressed

Beautifully ground and finished, diameter spot on. But be warned, has been hardened. You will need a abrasive disk to cut these, a hack saw won't hack it.

Bought by mistake. Wrong size for this project but probably have a use somewhere along the line. Seam to be well made and straight

Perfect for my printer, couldn't find any hint of bend on a cast iron surface plate at work. Great value 👍

Rejects. Poor quality. The rod is too thin, hence wobbles in the bearing with play.

Polished 300mm stainless steel rods
Bought these rods for my 3D Printer COREXY project and I am happy to report that the rod is of a high machine quality.

Using it to spin out rollers for painting
8mm I worked out was the same diameter as the rod for paint rollers. So perfect for cleaning out those rollers in a bucket of water. Only needed one though
