REALLY TASTES LIKE CONVENTIONAL JERKY
A bit pricy, but this stuff is really like conventional jerky and tastes terrific. I also think it should carry a government health warning, its so addictive, lol.

Too sweet
These make a nice change from eating fruit or nuts as a snack and the fact they are high protein is great! The texture is chewy and really unusual for a veggie meat alternative, i really like it. The only reason i'm giving the product four stars is because it is SO SWEET. Evaporated cane juice is high on the list of ingredients so i guess i should have expected it really. Worth a try and nice for a change but i don't think i'll be buying them again.

Love this!
Incredible! Looks and tastes like meat, without the guilt. If it did not say on the packet, I would swear it was meat, which is a bit confusing since I haven't eaten red meat for about 20 years now. The texture seems authentic. I say "authentic" since I have never eaten jerky in my life. This is my new favourite snack!

Absolutely vile
Absolutely revolting. Texture is nothing like real jerky - and the after-taste is vile. Also, the jerky smell lingers on your hands for hours - regardless of washing your hands. Definitely will not recommend to anyone.

Surprisingly convincing vegan jerky with chewy texture and sweet BBQ flavour
I bought these for my snack cupboard because I’m a big fan of savoury snacks. Back when I ate meat I used to enjoy jerky occassionally, so I was intrigued to see a vegan version and wanted to give it a try. When you open the packet, you can immediately notice the sweet BBQ smell. The flavour definitely leans towards the sweeter side of barbecue sauces, so if you prefer a smoky or savoury BBQ style this might not quite hit the mark for you. Texture-wise though, it’s excellent. It’s tough and chewy in the way jerky should be, without being dry. It even tears in a similar way to meat jerky, which makes it feel surprisingly authentic. It’s been a long time since I’ve had traditional jerky, but this felt like a really good plant-based replacement in terms of texture. Each strip is a good portion size and feels satisfying as a snack. I could see myself throwing one in my bag to take to work as a quick savoury snack to keep me going during the day. The main downside is the price. At close to £2 per strip it’s definitely on the expensive side, so for me this is more of an occasional treat rather than something I’d keep stocked all the time. That said, snacks in health food shops are often priced similarly, so it’s not wildly overpriced - just not cheap enough to be a regular purchase. If these were available in bulk at a lower per-strip price, I’d probably buy them more often. Overall this is a very good vegan jerky alternative with a convincing chewy texture, especially if you enjoy sweeter BBQ flavours.

Sickly and synthetic tasting
The texture is like meat but the Texas bbq flavour is sickly sweet yet savoury and not in a good way. I have a sweet tooth and I hoped these would be similar to sweet baby rays sauce but it’s really sweet but savoury like nothing I’ve tasted before and it definitely is not like any bbq sauce I’ve ever experienced. It’s quite synthetic and just not pleasant at all. Giving it two stars because the texture resembles meat but the strange sauce makes it inedible for me sadly.

Three Stars
Delicious but a bit too oily and a lil pricy.
