Practise makes perfect!
Whether there are better items out there I cannot say as this is the first time ive used such a foot - I used it without issue though this free motion embroidery lark will take some practise! Although my machine takes clip on style feet I had to unscrew this mechanism to leave just the shank which the embroidery foot then attaches too, reusing that screw that holds the clip mechanism. After you have dropped the dog feet (feet dogs? those grippy teeth!) this foot works by holding the fabric whilst the needle is down and releases it while the needle is up allowing you to move the fabric freely around. Ultimately I wanted this to finish my quilts with but so far ive used it to freehand write the odd word, darned a hole in some denim and made a few practise feather wreaths. It seems sturdy enough and well made.

No instructions but easy to fit once you get your head around it
At first I had no idea how to fit, and didn't really want to take my new machine to bits... but we'll worth it, I'm going to have fun with this, and especially at the price as an actual arm for my leg would be very expensive

great item and great price.
I am so pleased that I took a chance with this item. I have a very old frister and rossmann 503 and was a bit dubious that it would fit my machine alsoi didn't want to pay £30plus which is what i was quoted for a f&r attachment. it is far better quality than i expected and was very easy to fit. thank you

Fits the machine
The machine I use is a Singer 9612 and this fits in the machine no problem! I'm fairly new to machine sewing but wanted to try this out to make some greeting cards. I tried it on fabric first and it seemed to work fine on it and also on the fabric with card. The stitches aren't what I expected but that could be down to my novice title and not understanding correctly. Brilliant fun to use!

Embroidery, darning foot
I ordered this darning foot as I wanted to do some machine quilting. The foot arrived quickly and it is exactly as shown on the photo. It could be a little difficult to attach to the machine if you were not used to doing a lot of sewing. Haven't used it for long but it does work well and I am very pleased with it and would definately recommend it.

Good for the money
I had been looking for one of these for a while. I have a Necchi Sewing machine. The only issue if you have a machine like mine is the spring pin at the top of the foot does not fit because the screw for the needle gets in the way. I easily fixed this by bending the pin around with a pair of pliers. Also you need to lift the spring rather than using the foot lever as it is quite low already onto the machine to get fabric underneath. What I would say is a little annoying is it has no quick release system as many new machines have - you have to unscrew the foot off and on each time - if you are swapping sewing feet often this is a little annoying. Over-all I'm happy with my purchase!

It was an okay purchase
It did not come with instructions so I had slight difficulty attatching it to my Janome sewing machine. I use it for free machine embroidery which it does work very well for except when i'm sewing at high speeds the thread seems to get caught on the rim. Other than that it is a good sturdy product which will last a long time.
