This pedal is about 75% the size of an EHX pedal (EHX Silencer pictured for comparison). The case is 100% metal and feels substantial. It's not heavy, but it will likely stay in place as well as any other pedal even if you don't attach it to a pedalboard. It included a non-slip rubber pad sticker and a velcro sticker to attach it to a pedal board. You can use either, or none if that's your preference. I really like the way this looks too. My wife said it's gaudy, but that's a selling point to me. The crazier the paint job, the more I like them. I like lots of colors and stuff on my pedal board, so this fits right in with my other pedals. The chorus effect is controlled by three "standard" chorus controls. Speed, depth, and mix. On the lower settings, it sounds lush much like a Digitech chorus to me, and on the upper end of the control spectrum, it sounds wobbly much like an EHX chorus to me. You will be able to dial in any chorus tone you'd like. It does not run on a battery. I used a Snark 9v Pedal power supply and hear no discernable noise coming from the pedal. The user manual is pretty sparse on details, but the device requires 100mA to power, which is fairly normal for a chorus pedal. It does not say if it's true-bypass or buffered output, but I suspect it's buffered. Most true bypass pedals have switches that click hard when you press them. This one doesn't. The recording is direct through ProTools with a Fender 50th Aniversary Custom Strat through a Fractal FM9 Super Verb "normal" patch. Overall, I like this pedal a lot, and when it comes time to rebuild my pedalboard, I'm sure this will end up on it. For a budget pedal, it easily performs out of its price range.

I got interested in Klon clones. I bought this and a the Golden Horse the popular Mosky budget pedal. Never was a pedal player but did have an original Tube Scream back in the 70's I used for a Peavy VINtage amp that needed more gain. I remember shortly after buying it I saw Rory Galager with one sitting on top of his amp. This pedal combined with a tape delay really is sweet. I tried it out on all my amps in the clean channels. I got it mainly for the Fender Champ 12 I have been tweaking for years. The gain on that amp is notoriously harsh while the clean is famously beautiful Fender 6l6...The Azor Horse pedal has lovely 9 o'clock overhead on the level and with 12 o'clock on the drive and nature knobs the break up is sweet and musical. I have been really liking punchy and plucky 50's sound with drive control at the guitar and pick. DIgging in to bring out more gain this pedal helps make that happen. Contrast to the Mosky which is darker but equally as sweet with a smooth higher gain. Both sound excellent. Build quality tips to the AZOR. AZOR also wins on dynamics and headroom. Plus the graphics are over the top... THese pedals are not hardcore metal or even 80's high gain sound. They boost your guitar's gain into the amp's preamp enough to bring out the just breaking tube sound. Quite brilliant these clones are. I don't have much to directly compare it to other than my own experience and I know what guitar tone is having been a tube amp owner and player for over 40 years. I gigged for years straight into my amps over the years picking amps for tone over marketing and gizmo's...but for the Fender Champ 12, I was alway dissapointed in the drive channel and as such rarely played the amp. It sat for years as I found it by the side of the road, with a missing speaker. I had wired it for an external speaker and did some mods to the circuit but never got it sounding where I wanted until now. The Pedal also sounds great on the Mesa Boogie Studio .22 and Traynor YVC20 both loaded with Alnico speakers. Though the Mesa's pure gain with plate reverb and tape delay in the effects loop is unbeatable for the chicken plucking tone I enjoy. If you are looking for a very transparent modern klon clone with big headroom for the just breaking tone. This is one to have in your kit.
