Q: How does the silicone version with strap compare to a ring holder?

Think it's really down to preference, I like the strap as can hold it with entire hand vs ring being one finger and me having small hands so feels more awkward haha also what's nice with the strap is it runs the length of the phone so have more control of how I want to hold it eg further up when scrolling vs further down when typing

Yes. I think it leaves enough room,but not 100 percent.

Q: How do you get the s pen out of the phone without taking the cover off ?

There's cut out for the s pen. Nothing to worry about.
