What's the battery tray for, 18650? Flat top or button top?

The battery holder that comes with the radio will accommodate both batteries. It was designed to do that. I am currently using the flat top 18650 batteries.

If i purchase cc2500, will my elrs module work in the jr bay?

It's a mini. Same size as a tx12.

If I choose edition cc250 do I need an external module to make it work?

With elrs or crossfire. It will bind to lots of other protocols, but they all suck. Buy elrs, unless you are heavily invested in frsky receivers.

What version is this radio control? FCC Version or EU LBT?

Which ever one you want, fcc is usually the one you would want unless maybe going to Europe. You can add modules what ever you need. I love my boxer, it’s my go too now, over spectrum!!
