This large cicada helped me explain what sounds we were hearing in the trees in our yard. when we dug under the tree (dog died unfortunately) we actually found some growing cicada grubs and the kids recognized them right away! This shows just how good the educational value is for these toys.

Tip: If you are looking at more than one of these sets, see if there is a combo pack available that includes the ones you want. Those are much cheaper per set than buying them individually.I have a number of these life cycle sets from Momoplay, and all of them are of reasonable size, well molded, and cleanly painted. This cicada set is no exception — definitely recommended!
