I have been using this for 6 Months now, I like to think I know one or two things regarding networks and computers, this little box is very expensive for what it does (sits there receiving a signal), but oh boy! It does it very well. Before buying it, I tested my area for signal strength and got a reasonable 300+Mb speed, which was on par if not better than Virgin Media, I made the purchase feeling like I might have wasted a lot of money, but time will tell. When it arrived I set it up, inserted a Smarty Sim and booted it up, within a couple of minutes of the initial setup screen, I was away, it was all working as intended, straight away I was getting 500mb down 35mb up, after messing around with locations the max I had seen was over 1gb down and 100mb up, the reality was my wife would not let me keep it in that location, so as a compromise I have had to put it elsewhere not ideal, but still triple of what I was getting from VM on fibre for £70 a month. I now pay £16 a month from Smarty on Unlimited. The signal strength is usually great, although I have had slowdowns when there are massive rainstorms, but when I say slow-downs... it drops to like 250mb so still the same as VM was providing. I am right on the edge of 5g reception, my phone doesn't get it, but the router does. Occasionally if there is an event going on nearby the tower can become congested (for a few hours) it's still usable but don't be attending any FPS championships, or you will be disappointed with dropped packets during them times. My son and I use it every night to game, my daughter uses it to stream Netflix in 4k, and my wife is usually using ITV player or an alternative, as well as browsing social media all at the same time, this thing handles it very well, I do have it connected into an Asus router for efficiency. The software is very comprehensive, you can use it in basic mode, and it just works, or you can mess with settings I have never heard of and tweak things if you like, It's easy to make backups of your setup before changing stuff, every month it seems like there is a Firmware update, I literally click "Update" and tick the "Backup settings" option, and it does it all in a couple of mins and reconnects, minimum downtime. I have read of people having issues with cellular internet disconnecting and causing frustration, this is not the routers fault, this is the data providers doing, they kick every one off after x amount of hours from what I understand, so to circumnavigate this, I have set up for the router to reboot at 0300 every day, so the network sees me as a fresh client every day, and since then I haven't had any issues. I was thinking of using an external aerial to see if I can get better / faster signal. Oh! For durability… it's only been 6 months, but It's sat here in full sunlight 35+ Celsius on the window seal and not one blip yet.

Very easy to get up and running, professional grade and high quality hardware. Much faster than the Netgear M1 it replaced.
