The reel deal 100%
Used this to overhaul three big Biomaster XTA 8000 reels and four normal baitrunner aero GTE 8000s, its the real deal. It is slightly heavier grade than what shimano put in their reels to begin with but ive since used the reels in -8deg weather and the grease did not thicken and stiffen the reels action up like the standard or cheaper stuff does, i can 100% vouch for that as it was what i was scared of. It stays well seperated from the bearing oil and simply will not mix with it so contamination resistance wise its bob on. I would estimate maybe a 3000 size baitrunner would be the smallest reels i would use it on before it would slow down the action due to thickness. I applied it heavy at first then quickly stuck the reel cover and handle back on, then i reopened and removed the excessive grease and oiled the new bearings... worked an absolute treat and every one of the reels felt a good 20% smoother. One of my big pit biomaster reels felt a tad grindy due to a slightly worn brass worm drive and this stuff has somehow stopped all grinding and it feels identical to my other two now. All the reels i have used this stuff in have been used hard and i even tested them vigorously after reassembly, i have even dabbed this stuff on my upgraded carbontex drag washers and it maintained the clutching capabilities as well as taking away the tiny bit of grab they had on the hardest setting. Good gear 100%

This is the good stuff
Great product. Much better than using general purpose grease, which seems to harden after a few months. This product is blue in colour, and is a genuine marine style grease, and is safe to use in a saltwater environment. One thing, be careful not to apply to much, and paint on thinly with a paintbrush. Applying to much, will make the reels stiffer to wind in cold weather. Can be thinned slightly, with a little light oil, if necessary. Have recently serviced all my reels with this product, a small tub, but goes a long way. Great reel grease.

THIS APPEARS TO BE THE 'STANDSRD' GREASE, FOR REEL GEAR MECHANISMS, BOTH SIDES OF THE POND
This, very tenacious, once it adheres. It stay on! Only needed at the gear-tooth interface. It is also appropriate for bushing bearing reel-winder axle interface. Like'oressure' interfaces. Not for spool spindle/bearing interfaces. That is for the thin-oil lubricant. Use less than comes up, on the applicator devicebyounuse, even if it is your finger. Some may disagree, but the level-wind helically-cut axle, is suited only to the thin oil. As a more viscous medium, wind-blown sand, would stick, just as tenaciously into that axle carriage, in a cast, moreso, than using the thin oil, for that. Both, have to stay off, the discs, in thev drag system. Overall. It does it says. Even with multiple multipliers, you could get years, outbid one, small, pot. It does not decompose, or oxidise. 5 star product.

not for cold climates
I have used this to grease an old mitchell 300, this is a very thick grease and I find that the temperature affects the viscosity and subsequently the ease at which the reel can be turned. On a hot summers day this will be no problem but in subzero temperatures this may be an issue. I think I will stick to tf2 lithium cycle bearing grease which will be far easier running when cold and a lot cheaper.
