The granules kill by contact and can be used in your vegetable and flower gardens, and around the perimeter of your home. Apply pre-emptively before or immediately after observing any insect activity to create a bug barrier for up to 3 months of protection (refer to product label for listed insects). Don't just treat the brown areas of the lawn--to prevent further damage, apply to your entire lawn. Kills insects above and below the ground. For best results, apply during early Spring or Summer. For uniform and even coverage, use a Scotts® spreader to apply. Then thoroughly water the treated area immediately after application. Allow the area to dry before people and pets re-enter treated areas. Each 10-lb. bag of insect killer treats up to 10,000 sq. ft. of lawn.
