If I can’t get them off by hand I have always used an oil filter strap type wrench. Finally got around to getting this and I’m glad I did. For one it’s got a strong magnet so it can hold its own weight or the weight of an average filter easily. It’s got a rubber pad as well so no marks left on the top of the filter. I would recommend you use this to only remove filters. I just use my hand to install, unless you don’t have much hand strength, but point being don’t crank your filters on! They don’t need it. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone that does oil filter work.
