After buying a Dutch oven ( Mueller ) from Amazon I needed to replace most of my utinsels from steel edge to rubber so not to damage the enamel on the inside of the Dutch oven. These utensils fit the need with flying colors. The gripping material on the hand edge of the tongs is a non slip type of what feels like rubber and the clasping edge the same. They feel good in my hand and I don't have to worry about scratching the inside of my Mueller Dutch oven To close or open the tongs you pull or push the round part at the base end of the tongs. The other set I did have before you had to slide a metal ring down or up the length of the tong handle to keep it closed or slide it back to open.it I like the set up on the new tongs for storage ( close or open ) for use I recommend these to anyone needing a non scratch utensil or for that matter metal pots and pans. They feel good in your hand and the non slip material on the handles and non scratch material on the working part of the tongs is just what I'm looking for.
