This fire pit tray is really nice! High quality, functions well and puts off a decent amount of heat. If you’re thinking about building your own natural gas fire pit I would highly recommend it. Also, I went with the 48” x 6” insert and it took about 25 lbs of glass to fill it to the proper level.

The fire pit and lgniter work amazing. I built my own base and connected it to the natural gas line available on my patio. Everything works perfect, puts out great heat, and is well built. I had to work the on off valve a few times to just losen it up for smooth movement. I read a few reviews about the igniter not working well. I did not have major issues since I cleared a little extra space around the two prongs after adding lava rock. This allowed a little airflow around the igniter and gas tube. We ordered a glass windscreen from Amazon to help reduce wind blown flames. We used tile for the top of the pit to help retain heat. I also read some do not know where to put the AAA battery. Unscrew the black cap surrounding the push button and put the positive end towards you.

Very well-built extremely easy to hook up. Like Prior review the ignition is a little long, but that can easily be fixed With steel spacers or washers on the underside to adjust height. In hindsight, I don’t really think you need the ignition switch. I would just prefer to Turn on the gas and light it with a stick lighter would be just as easy. The gas bar does shoot out a nice even flame Across the entire 36 inch bar.

I bought this product because I have enjoyed so many fire pits others have. Never have I seen a fire-it which bends up in the middle when heated. This fire-pit pan, when lit, will fold in the middle and rise over an inch. I have been told it isn't a safety issue, but it looks bad when the pan moves and bends as it heats up. Customer service at stanbroil said this movement and bending is normal. When I first bought this product it came without the screws to attach the lighting system. Even that was a nightmare attempting to acquire those parts. That was nothing as compared to the difficulty with customer service about the poor construction of their product. Buy any other product than Stanbroil, it is a poor product and they don't stand behind it.

So one day during our 2020 coronavirus quarantine, my wife says “Let’s build an outdoor fireplace on our patio!” Ugh. “Another quarantine project?” I say. Overall very pleased with our Stanbroil purchase. Only real issue we had was there were no instructions included in the box (wasn’t sure where the rubber hose went versus the metal hose) but I emailed Stanbroil and asked for a PDF and received instructions the same day. We ended up replacing the rubber hose with a stainless steel non-whistle hose any way. We also did not use the igniter (too many bad reviews on it and really using a butane lighter is just as easy) also we did not use the metal mounting plate the igniter and gas valve were mounted to. I removed the gas valve from the metal plate and used a hole saw to cut a perfect hole in the side of our unit and mounted the gas valve inside our custom homemade outdoor fireplace (metal studs, cement board and Quikwall) then screwed the chrome valve cover through the hole and it looks really good (next time I’ll run the inlet gas through the back for a cleaner look though). We left plenty of room for the burner pan metal to expand/contract so no warping metal issues as of yet. Also we were originally going to buy the H burner but our fire box is shallow so we went with the single tube burner. Glad we did. This thing really pumps out the flames and heat. In these photos we have the flames on very low. On high the flames almost reach the top which is 29 inches. Also the rocks are from Stanbroil. Guess I’ll have to review them as well.

Excellent Product, very well made. 8" flame on high. I built my own Fire Table, natural gas burners a bit hard to locate. Love this burner!!

Purchased a second, first one has held up for over 2 years looks new no issues so far.
