Yes, long necklaces need to be looped twice- bulky ones would need to go on the small shelf on the left. It will not close otherwise.

How wide are the over-door brackets? I have thick doors and many brackets are too small. Thank you!

Also you can try move level holes on brackets you can try put In the first hole of the bracket
