GCSE 9-1 English Language and English Literature Exam Practice Workbook, with Practice Test Paper (Letts GCSE 9-1 Revision Success)

It is my belief that this book was intended to be used in conjunction with the "Letts GCSE English Language and English Literature Revision Guide", for which I have already posted a review. In all honesty this collection of exam-style questions is far more useful than the actual Revision Guide itself. There are a mixture of questions relating to both the language & literature sections of the GCSE English exams, both of which I have found to be quite useful. Sadly what really lets this book down are the so called 'answers' at the book of the book. To call them answers is simply not true, as there are o actual answers as such, just a very basic 'Mark Scheme'that is repeated over and over again for each question. There are no examples of exemplar answers whatsoever within this book, which in my opinion, is beyond belief. How is a student supposed to know the correct format for an answer if there are no examples given? It simply beggars belief.Overall, as an English tutor myself, I will be using this book simply for the questions as practice for my student's, but sadly, it is of little use for tose who do not have someone such as myself to give examples of how to answer the questions.

Looks like a good source of revision materials but lacks the structure and syllabus of their old study guide (no longer available)
