L'air Du Temps Eau de Toilette, 30ml

Amazing bottle and a most delightful perfume that is clean yet soft and sensuous. Amazon shipped from the States and I’m glad they did.

I have used this perfume for almost 40 years. The bottle is a beautiful design . It is a perfume as opposed to toilet water and therefore scents all day. Therefore it's more cost effective. It can be very difficult to find and this is a very reasonable price.

Have used this perfume all my life love it but seems harder to find especially the large bottle and smell hasn't changed 👍👍

Worst perfume I have ever tried It smells something like a bar of soap or hospital cleaning detergent!

The fashion at the moment for fragrance is for stronger scents. It is good sometimes to go back to one that is subtle and classic if you find modern fragrances over-powering. Light and floral, top notes carnation and fresia, it lasts well, drying down to a soft powdery flowery scent. Some modern scents dry down and change beyond recognition. The bottle is glamorous and recalls the elegance of the time it was created- 1948 and the 'New Look' fashion of the early fifties. Think of Dior dresses and those big picture hats. The doves on all the different bottles signify peace after the war and the scent itself suggests the wonderful range of scents you discover when you walk though a french flower market on a warm sunny day. L'air du Temps has simplicity and charm, a timeless, evocative scent. It won't make a huge statement when you wear it but people will notice and remark. A scent that has been loved for sixty years will continue to be popular. L'air du Temps means 'the spirit of the time', the optimistimism and hope of fresh beginnings.

L'air du Temps is a French phrase with a second meaning which is difficult to translate, but means something like what is currently being talked about. The English equivalent might be "something in the air." In 1948, when Roberto Ricci introduced this perfume, that "something in the air" was a sense of optimism as Europe moved beyond the events of World War II and the immediate aftermath. Designers were looking for something to bring women back to the world of fashion that had been put on hold during the war years. The L'air du Temps bottle, designed by Marc Lalique, is a work of art; the twin doves on the carved crystal stopper symbolize post war hope and peace. Das Eau de Toilette ist abgefüllt in einer Spraydose oder Glasflasche (kann man nicht erkennen) mit Plastikhülle in der Farbe Weiß, Tauben und Schrift in der Farbe Gold. Der Hersteller nennt diese Abfüllung "Travel Spray". L'Air du Temps kann in dieser Ausführung unkompliziert in der Handtasche Platz nehmen. Verpackt ist das Travel Spray in schlichtem matten Karton in der Farbe Gelb. Das Eau de Toilette startet mit der für L'Air du Temps typischen Kopfnote, die ich aber nur einen Moment wahrnehmen kann. Die darauf folgende Herznote/ Basisnote (zwischen beiden kann ich keinen Unterschied ausmachen) bleibt gleich bis sie nach vielen Stunden verflogen ist. Die Haltbarkeit ist für ein Eau de Toilette beachtlich. Fazit: Das hier angebotene Eau de Toilette Travel Spray würde ich als sommerlich-leichte Version des Klassikers L'Air du Temps beschreiben. Es ist frisch-blumig, edel, dezent und dennoch präsent mit hohem Wiedererkennungsfaktor. Absolut zu empfehlen! Amazon hat mir die Ware schnell und sicher verpackt zugeschickt.
