Stovetop Popcorn Maker – 6.5-Quart Popper Pan with Wooden Crank Handle and Internal Kernel Stirrer by Great Northern Popcorn (Black)

We purchased this popper to replace our second broken Whirlypop-brand popper. Both of those broke in roughly the same way: the plastic gear connecting the handle to the shaft failed. The shaft was assembled with an permanent fastener rather than a screw, such that replacing the gear was not an option, even if you had the equipment and patience to 3D-print a replacement.I decided not to buy Whirlypop's metal gear option because I do not wish to incentivize their likely deliberate business practice of using poor materials.Instead I purchased this brand. It is all but identical to our broken Whirlypop but for the black powdercoat on the bucket and the aforementioned metal gear. It's working perfectly. I hope it will last for many years.

7wLost a screw from the crank handle so this was not usable. Emailed customer service and they said I had to buy a whole new lid for $13.99. I did and the only one they had on their website was for a bigger pot, which I didn't realize it wouldn't fit my 6.5 pot. Tried to return it and they refused to send me a label so it was at my cost. Cheaper to keep it and throw the whole thing out. I will never do business with them again. The new lid does not have the screw that fell out of mine. Hopefully, nobody swallowed the screw part. It is a hazard that needs a redesign. So disappointed in this product!

I love popcorn!! Getting this kettle and making popcorn the was they direct makes me love it even more. Wonderful!!

It looks nice, but the screw keeps coming loose then the rod comes out and we'll try stopping your popcorn from needing to be thrown out when you can't turn the spinal because it's come apart while popping the popcorn... and you can't put it back together when the pot and metal is hot.... I should have spent the extra 10 for one that I know works, oh well.

DON'T LIKE POUR QUALITY MADE. WHILE POPPING POPCORN WHERE THE 2 SHAFTS COME TOGETHER THEY COME APART WHILE STIRRING AND THE POPCORN BURNS.

The piece that connects the handle to the little "impeller" broke and I had to find a way around it to keep using this pan. Not very good quality

I liked this product upon arrival and for the first few uses. On about the fourth use the metal shaft connection on the top, that allows for stirring the corn, bent during regular use. Product construction is weak and unit does not hold up to normal use. Also, the screw that holds the stirring handle to the lid constantly comes loose. Wear and tear is quick. Contacted warranty service. We’ll see what they do.

Bottom of pan was not flat so heated unevenly. Coating came off the second time I used it. I had bought one form this company a few years ago and it was ok but this one was just junk. If it wasn't such a pain I would send it back. Don't waste your money on this product. I'm going to dig my old one out of the trash and use it.
