Best gaming headset
best headsets, I had before razer kraken 7.1 and steelseries siberia. But these headset is amazing. Sound quality is crisp and clean. Microphone one of the best. Ear cups are big and feels nice. I would recommend this headset to gamer. If you don't need carry case, than this headset is amazing choice. Because in this edition case is not included.

Brilliant, but you must use a quality Amp/DAC.
Just a quick one, the reviews are all over the place ratings wise, the reason, you must use a headphone amp with these, if you are PC gaming you need something like a Sound Blaster AE5 or 7 minimum (these can create brilliant 7.1 surround with the software on stereo headphones), with high quality DACS and amp stage, if straight out of a motherboard or Amp you WILL be disappointed. These are old now but a gem, built like a brick toilet but you can get them cheap, so if you see them and have a decent output stage for them, buy them, just got a used pair in very good condition(need new ear pads!) from Amazon for £20! ...but you must use a quality DAC amp.

Decent to great depending on use case
Not had them all that long, I will update if anything changes. To date my thoughts = some good and some bad points... out of the box they're a bit of a mixed bag. General build quality is good, the volume wheel feels cheap as heck but I'm pleasantly suprised at how useful it is and at how well it works. The stock ear cushions are very warm, and not the most comfortable, they might wear in over time but I also might replace them. The cushion on the headband is quite narrow and there is room for improvement, but again it's not awful. The mcirophone works well, and is very clear. For general listening they sound ok, fairly neutral (at least in terms of "gaming" headsets). Sound isolation is better than I thought it would be, better than some cheap noise cancelling headphones I've tried. A warning on the cable - it is somewhat telegraphic, meaning you will hear if it's tapped or bumped. Overall ok... Now, using them with equalizer APO / HeSuVi for virtualised surround is a bit of a game changer, and for this these things are very good. I've tried virtual surround with other open-back headphones (my preference for general listening) , but the nature of their sound profile / presentation doesn't lend itself too well. For this application the Game Zero closed-back design and fairly neutral Senheiser sound profile makes a big difference, and for this application I'd rate them highly. So... for the money they're ok, not a screaming deal but also not terrible. I'd imagine that most folks will end up buying some aftermarket bits to make them a little more comfortable for long sessions. If you're looking for a decent headset to just plug & play I might suggest you look elsewhere (though not by much). Howevert if you're looking for a headset to use with some form of virtualised surround for that extra immersion / directionality, then these are a good buy.

Terrible for music
I know this is a gamer headset, but I was expecting something usable for music. This is not it.

Fantastic headset .. ruined by a braided cord.
Excellent sound quality (IMHO studio quality! through my ASUS Xonar sound card) ... spoilt by a braided cord that feeds noise into you left ear every time it even slightly touches anything. What were Sennheiser thinking? Never buy a headset with a braided cord! (IMHO) I have found a way to mitigate the cord problem by pinning it underneath my keyboard, so it doesn't move too much. I have two Sennheiser headphones (not headsets) with unbraided cables that are excellent. So I am brand biased.

Fantastic sound quality as you would expect from Sennheiser. Very comfortable and also blocks alot of external noise.

Awesome headset absolutely destroys all other competition, the boom mic is great, the cans feel nice on the ears and the headband is soft and comfortable. I got the Special Edition and although they dont come with a carrying case or second cord to play on console or just have one output, these things are identical to the regular ones. These are all black and all mean!! mic is awesome when it is pushed up it is muted and is not anyway in your POV. The only headset that i could compare these to is the Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X/ATH-AG1X. 2 of my buddies have those headphone and these are right up there with them.
