My 7 year old grandson and I are in awe of this little set. He’s always been big into art and continues to show more and more interest in to drawing. When I saw this set I thought it would be a fun introduction into animation and maybe help spark some more creativity. It did just that. He loves these little books.Each book has 6 animations which completely blew our minds! The animation changes based on where you place your thumb on the book. This truly feels so special when we see how clever it is in person.The only frustration my 7 year old grandson has is the coloring. The drawings are pretty small so one is limited in the supplies that can be used. Not only that, the “every 3rd page coloring” kind of threw him off. It wasn’t a deal breaker, but it was frustrating for him. Just something to keep in mind if buying for younger artists.

The edges of the books are trimmed such that you get a different animation based on if you hold the top, middle, or bottom of the page. Flip the book over and you get three more.The AR aspect is nifty too, taking the lessons into greater detail that is just shown on the paper.That said, look carefully at the flip book pages and you will see subtle helpers to understanding the images, like arrows at the tips of motion lines, measuring marks for arcs and circles, and other little tidbits your eyes don't really capture when your flipping through the book to see the animation.This is a great way to start teaching the ways animation is MADE not just seen.

This is an amazing flip book kit! I am really blown away. It's such a creative and perfect way to introduce the 12 basic principles of animation. In just 2 small flip books, you learn each principle based on where you place your thumb on the book to flip through it (top, middle, or bottom). It almost feels magical that you can fit so many different principles to learn animation practically in the palm of your hand.I believe that this would also make an excellent gift for those wanting to learn or beginning to learn animation, for any age. Kids will love being also color in the flipbook but adults will be able to appreciate the creativity, presentation, and knowledge in this set.

I am blown away by how special this set is. I can't believe there are 12 total animations in the two flipbooks! You get a different animation based on where you hold your thumb to flip, and then when turned in the opposite direction. It is so crisp and clear, and easy to hold.I got this for my son in hopes of encouraging an understanding of animation and getting him excited to learn but really, I am in love myself. It makes me feel like a kid again when you would draw really simple animations in school, and it really does feel like magic to see the drawings come to life. I am eager to draw some myself!
