are the connectors brass or nickel-plated?

That is a great question. They are actually a machined copper alloy, with bright Nickel Plating on all metal parts. The copper alloy allows for better signal transmission. We do not use brass.

can it work well with 1000mbps comcast network?

I have standard Comcast network services and it works great.
