I bought this because I needed an edger for my sidewalk. I am a senior citizen and can not get on my knees to cut a clean edge at my sidewalk to the front door. I am on a fixed income so I did not want to spend a lot of money for another garden tool, so this appealed to me and my needs. I am pretty handy so putting it together should have been easy BUT the directions are awful so try to look at the videos on this Amazon site and it may help. Once it was together I took it outside and edged my sidewalk. It did the job that I purchased it for but the blades break easily so buy extra blades. The biggest issue I have with this unit was getting the battery off so I could charge it. For some reason it was not releasing the lock when I pressed the buckles to pull it out. I got a screwdriver and took the screws out of the handle and gently pulled it apart and the battery then came off. I am now charging the battery so I don't know If I will have to do this every time I use it. I HATE string weed eaters with a passion so this for ME is better. It is not a high end piece of equipment at $40.00 but it did what I purchased it for. This is the reasons why I gave this a 3 star review. I hope this helps anyone thinking about purchasing this trimmer.

I got this on time from the post delivery. I ordered unassembled, but the metal shield was on it. I have damaged hands, so trying to loosen the bolt as the video showed was painful and hurt me. Not good there. Then, while spinning it to come off as the video showed, the metal shield stopped right on the tip, and the center bolt moved with it. I tried everything, but have nothing thin enough to get under the small gap to reach the bolt under the shield. Since I can't return it, I studied the plastic safety guard, seeing where I could take my Dremel and cut through the plastic so I could open it up over the metal disc. It locks into place, so I do not fear it coming off any time soon. Rest of the assembly was really easy in comparison. All parts were provided, and my test run worked. I will see how it works on the weeds in the morning.Most reviews warn of a short time frame for it to work. I am not worried since I can't stay out longer than 30 minutes or handle electric tools very long. I feel for what I need it for, I am hopeful it meets my needs. It is very light, perfect for my weight limitations due to my torn ligaments in my main hand and my left hand has tendonitis after 30 years of compensating for it. I'm starting with the plastic blades. If they can't do it, I will try the metal. Here's hoping for a productive 30 mins.

Good product but the assembly sucks. String free is great as long as your don't have to change the blades. They need to redesign this part.

First off had no issue removing the plate to put the guard on and reattaching the plate. Unscrews just like video shows. Just use the little wrench to hold the shaft still while starting to unscrew the plate.Bought this primarily for trying out the circular blade to remove some overgrowth a string trimmer would struggle with. First use it did fairly well with circular blade attached. Got stuck a time or two but cut through everything that wasn't too large for it fairly easily.Biggest issue is short battery life and that seller doesn't offer additional batteries for it. Will see if battery continues to charge between uses and update review later.

This is the second one in over one year. The older model the blades kept coming off because the screw tightener was garbage. The new seemed to have fixed that problem but I did have a problem with it suddenly stopping working. I did receive communication which offered the solution. I am very impressed with the customer service and therefore edited my review to be more positive.

Update: still an amazingly powerful tool, however, the screw that holds the blades on still managed to get stuck in spite of me not tightening it like crazy - managed to CUT MY FINGER open while attempting to get it unstuck. Tried the enclosed wrench, a ratchet, and a power drill and I can’t get the screw to loosen at all - meaning I can no longer use the machine because there is no way to replace the blade. :( extremely disappointed because I truly loved using this machine.Just got back in from our first use and pretty blown away. Assembly was simple, charged the battery, and took it outside with incredibly low expectations because of all the bad reviews… this thing is AWESOME. Went through multiple different types of grass of varying lengths and thicknesses - blade broke when I went over my second baby stalk of bamboo… I continued using it with half the blade for about 20 minutes, cleared away everything from under our electric fence. Cleaned up the cracks around our sidewalk until the other half of the blade broke off, replaced with another and finished the job even with the blade smashing directly into the concrete the majority of the time….I will say, I ordered a huge amount of blades before the machine actually arrived (based on reviews) but I’m honestly blown away with how powerful it is. When it arrived today in a foot long box I thought I had been scammed. When I saw the tiny battery I just knew this thing wouldnt work. But wow. Honestly, my lawn man charged me $25 to edge our lawn last time - this machine is $35 right now. So as long as it holds up for one more use I will have gotten my moneys worth. Blades are super easy to swap out, just don’t tighten the bolt crazy tight and it’s seamless.I’ll update if it craps out on the next use but for the first go, I couldn’t be more happy.

The product was great and had multiple attachments, works good.We had to return as it was not the one for our lawn, we needed a corded lawn trimmer, as batteries dsnt support for our lawn

Very excited to receive. But when I looked at video instructions the silver base was not attached but it was attached on mine. It is so tight it would not come loose to put on the black feeder protection. Have to find someone strong to loosen it or return it.After 45 minutes of many ways of getting the middle screw loose my son got the screw loose and he did try all the metal attachments. He was very impressed and it does work great on my thick weeds.

I like how light and quiet this machine is and the blades for it are not bad they do there job the spacing saw blade though only cuts through smaller branches and it looks like it would be big enough to handle bigger branches but the machine simply does not have enough power for it to cut right . You are going to want to get an extra battery or 2 or 3 because these batteries die very fast 20 25 mins of battery life and it needs to be recharged highly recommend getting another battery if you plan on getting large amounts of grass cut . Be perfect for someone with a small yard in town but not a big yard out in the country

Fonctionne très bien j'ai un terrain 4 000 pieds et je peut le faire 4 et même 5 fois avant de le chargerPas essayer encore les lames en métal mais a quand même assez de puissance pour la taille.Plastic a l’aire quand même cheap mais sa tien la route c’est solide et manquerait un 6 pouces de longueur sur le manche pour être plus confortable.Sinon parfait pour le prix même avec l’assemblage qui était presque rien.

I works great for small places but you will need more power for larger areas but for what need it fore it works good

Battery Life isn't very long, not as described, not very powerful.
